ADVISORY: no tickets can be purchased after 12pm tomorrow! Ought to be some upset fans who try to walk up! https://stonybrookathletics.com/news/2020/3/9/mens-basketball-basketball-update.aspx

The whole beat-a-team-three-times thing will be tested ... and I've never bought it. I read somewhere that the team that swept the season series has a 72% chance of winning the third game too.

I've said this two times before – Hartford can be had on the glass. We've been +7 and +9 in our two games. Can we do that again? The problem is that we collected 26 offensive rebounds in our previous two matchups, and that's only translated to 16 second-chance points, which is the same number of points that Hartford has on 11 offensive boards in the two games. Gotta do better than that, boys.

Ellison was very ordinary in our first battle, but he gashed us in the rematch. We have to make life a lot more difficult for him, and I think that's where Elijah comes in. He has the speed and physicality to stay with him. Ellison killed us going downhill and by knocking down seemingly every mid-range jumper he took.

Meanwhile, we were a combined 11 for 56 from deep against Hartford. 11 for 56! That's 19.6%. We've shot it pretty well the last couple games, so here's hoping it continues. We're 17-4 on the year when we shoot 40 percent or better from the field, 3-8 when we don't. If we get three happy, that number can really come down. We're going against the team that was BY FAR the best in defending the three, holding teams to just 25.2% shooting from deep in conference play, ahead of us in second at 29.1%.

While Hartford doesn't really have a Healy who can light us up, they can get a jolt off the bench from guys like DJ Mitchell, Romain Boxus and Michael Dunne. They're all better than 35% from deep. I'm not sure we have that kind of shooting depth.

I'm feeling a lot better about where we are after the last few games. Gueye is really starting to assert himself, and we've seen him dive toward the rim and get the ball delivered to him. Get the defense moving and thinking, guys. Do that and guys will free up, whether cutting in or from the outside. Foreman's shot selection has been better. He's gone to the rack more. Latimer's hit some big shots. And of course Elijah is back.

I don't know about us giving the six, but I like our chances to finally solve Hartford here. But it's mid-week, SBU in the middle of the virus stuff ... hopefully the crowd shows up and does their part.

I can't help think that this has effectively been demoted to be a neutral site game now.  Not sure if Las Vegas got wind of this, but I'd say even money now.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

Line is up to 7.5. Very interesting. The way we have had difficulty scoring at times, this doesn’t seem like a double digit win to me.

didnt we just sweep albAnY three times this season???

(just like writing that)  ;D

i'd call this game flat-even, the way Hart has played and the way we have, and with Ola not 100%. GO SB

Thanks Checkmate.

I've got my tickets and I'll try to be extra loud.

Hoping for another good game. Good luck SBU.

Gonna watch this one. Could be the last game of the season for our guys, but I got a feeling we'll get at least one more after this. Go SB!!

If this team goes 0-3 vs Hartford, they should be humiliated.

Pathetic effort so far. Kids should have some pride.

18-11 trailing.

Might take them 10 minutes to score 7 points so this game may be 100% over.

Swept by one of the worst teams in the entire nation 0-3.

Wow. Close the program. Stop humiliating the university.

13 points in 16 minutes

These embarrassing kids would lose to a lot of D1 women’s teams. My god. Get them off the court. Forfeit the game. Close the program. This is humiliating.

11 points in 13 minutes

Time to close the program. This pathetic group of kids is humiliating the university. We are risking coronavirus exposure to humiliate the university? Why???
Jack comes out of the gates on a rampage!

They’ll cool off. We’ll heat up. But is it enough to close a 14-point gap?

All this with Ellison on the bench.

There are no 8-point shots in the sport. Chop wood, boys.

This is sad. I'm done watching this. Pack it in folks. Maybe we'll get them next year with a better coach.

Whoever chose to limit ticket sales is stupid. Look at this embarrassment.
