bizarre game on many levels.  BC senior Grace exits in the first minute with a tweaked ankle.  then BC comes out throttling SB.  then woody goes cold and exits, presumably with, a cold.  then SB comes roaring back in a physical game with threes from yeboah.  then odom gets tossed; it looks like he was going to assault the ref.  now that the game is tight, BC drops into a zone.

I knew there'd be nights like this, and far more of them. No worries here. Let's just hope Woodhouse is healthy and ready to go for the quarters.

It's great to see Nyama and Yeboah coming on. Sturdy 2, Woodhouse 0, Sekunda 0, Saintel 0 though. Brutal.

I'd prefer to see Sekunda over Almonacy out there when we're chasing points. Almonacy adds very little value on either end.

Glass half full stuff:

1. UVM wins anyway so #2 destined to be SBU's spot no matter what. And at the beginning of AE anyone not take that deal? I'd say that's a pretty sweet spot.
2. SBU fights back into this one for a time without Woodhouse. Perhaps gives Almonacy a bit more confidence, and could sure use him to not just play even when Woody rests but to have him do good things.
3. Hope/assume Woodhouse sick. Good a time as any for that...rest up for next Wednesday, Lucas.

PS:  go ahead and give UVM all the weight of an undefeated conference season and an NCAA 12 seed. See how they do with that come AE tournament time....

Well this game shows us what we already knew. This team would be terrible without Woodhouse- he looks like he was ill and nothing physically off. He just looked like he had no strength.

I want to believe Iroegbu had suddenly become a good shooter but I was wrong: 1-9 shooting. Plays OK defense but man, not as good a shooter as one would expect from a guy who shoots that much. With regards to the backcourt, I can't wait for Elijah Olaniyi and Corry Long next year- our perimeter shooting will be much better.

Sturdivant has disappeared the last few games. As the season has gone on, he's been exposed a bit. Just not strong enough to have a good post game.

Petrus did some silly stuff like trying to put the ball on the floor from the top of the arc and having it promptly stolen. Kam was invisible too.

The few positives- Nyama still showing he's got a ton of talent. Yeboah is back too and is confident again- this will be huge going into the AE tourney.

Bottom line, I'll take the #2 seed- did not expect to be anywhere close to that.

Without Woodhouse we are less than average .  Sturdivant, Petras , Almonacy looked lost. Hopefiully Woodhouse recovers before the playoffs  because we are one nd done.   I guess we take it on the chin Saturday against Vermont .

No clue what the tiebreakers might be down at the bottom of things, but assume we're now looking at a first round against any of the Maine, Bing, Hart bunch.

Lots of not-much performances tonight, and hopefully all of that was just one of those games. On paper SBU should have a winnable first tournament game, and then if they move on it's just a dog fight for (hopefully) two games. Certainly this is a team with little room for flat performances from anyone come that time (all those complaints and weaknesses ain't going away, but as we've seen EVERYone can play a role on this team!), and I hope Boals gets them up and back in that fighting spirit next Wednesday.

Not feeling a lot of care right now about the UVM game, but looking forward to my seat at IFCU next week. Go get 'em SBU!

All we'd need is UVM to stumble once in the conference tourney and then we're potentially hosting the AE title game. Good stuff...

I'm very curious how this weekend's game at UVM will play out. My gut says rest people and come out hard next week for the conference tourney.
