This game was all about UVM’s role players. For them to beat us by nearly double digits without anything from Lamb and with Smith saddled with foul trouble speaks volumes about their depth. Massive 16 points from Shungu. A near double double from Davis. A couple big threes in the first half by Powell. EDuncan with some daggers late. Even Patella played well. It feels like they made some big hustle plays, especially late. When Smith and Lamb were both out in the second half and Vermont still climbed back into the game, that’s when I started to get that ill feeling.
We had some backbreaking turnovers. And got killed on the glass.
Foreman’s last seven games ...
Twos: 28 for 113 (.247)
Threes: 16 for 63 (.254)
We’ve seen him be much better and we need him. Hope he turns the corner soon.
I do look forward to watching TPP and TSM in the future.
This is one of those real tough times that can arrive in the season. Magically we are still in second place in the conference. Saturday is a must. Hartford, Albany, UMBC to close the season - 3, 4 and 5 in the current standings. How bad to we want it?
Worth noting: If UMBC loses at Vermont Saturday and we manage to beat Maine, we are three games up on them with three to go, with the win over UVM trumping whatever they have in the secondary tiebreaker. Long story short, we’d clinch a first round game at home. Let’s check that off.
