We played an aggressive, well coached 1st 12-14 minutes, and then reverted to the launchpad playbook, really bad TO’s, and missed FT’s, the rest of the way. If it was anyone but Maine, we would have lost this game, imo.

SB struggled against arguably the worst team in the conference and almost lost. Put a faulk in this season, it's over.. On to football and some Lacrosse

MacKenzine and Olaniyi both look they're going to be good. I'd like to see more of Garcia but I don't think you could take minutes away from Saintel or UC and/or Cornish.

Really like Olaniyi, minus his Freshman mistakes, but he’ll definitely be a good one. Jury still out on McKenzie for me, but less turnover prone than Cornish. Cornish, who is definitely athletic, plays way too out of control, and u can’t have your point guard play that way. He’s got to tone it down a bit. I hope Garcia is just rusty, because his shot and hands (receiving passes) has been very unimpressive to date.

No chance, AV. Garcia isn’t ready for prime time, and Junior was a monster defensively today. That is going to be a big part of this team down the stretch. We ran away from Lowell when we turned up the intensity defensively - on-the-ball pressure, deflections, challenging shots, etc. Junior had three steals and five blocks today. I wonder when that happened last at SBU. Maybe some Warney game. Junior is fairly limited offensively, but if he can fill a stat sheet with his energy, between steals, blocks and offensive rebounds, fantastic. He’s the closest thing we have to a shot blocker, and the shots he didn’t get he may have challenged or at least got the opponent thinking about it. He helped out on Calixte’s last drive and shot, which he short-armed. Olaniyi has been tough defensively too. His deflection made Calixte go get the ball past halfcourt and attack our defense starting at 60 feet away.

I don’t get the complaints about the threes - at least not today. You realize they were a big reason why we won, right? 7 for 16 in the first half, 4 for 13 in the second. I’ll take 11 makes every time. We won this game because we shut down Calixte in the second half and some guys not named Yeboah hit some big shots, including, lo and behold, some free throws.

Checkmate, I thought some of the 3’s late in the game were really poor. Even 0ne of UC’s makes I thought was a dubious shot choice. Love Saintel’s energy and athleticism - my one issue with him is his inability to finish around the rim.

I agree that we won't likely see much of Garcia until next year, and that Saintel is SB's best overall defender.

This one almost got away. I think SB was 2 for 6 from the line in the last minute. That said, I'll take the two-game winning streak. Hope to see the team get to .500 in the AE before the final two games.

I'm not saying this is the ceiling but at this point, I'd be happy with 8-8 and a second round conference tournament game.

Missed this one other than the box score and what's here a day after. Looking at the final four conference games, ending up 8-8 would be quite the achievement for this team I'd say.

Since we're thinking ahead, anyone else hoping/assuming UVM's going to come to our place unbeaten...and wouldn't that be an unlikely but fun cap to the season if SBU could miraculously spoil their perfect show?

But much before any of that, on to Bing, where SBU always seems to struggle no matter the team. I expect a rather dreary, error-filled/low shooting percentage game that comes down to the last shot like this one.
