Game 21-SBU vs. Maine
« on: January 26, 2014, 10:06:42 am »
Game Day!!  These so-called "automatic" games always make me nervous.  It would be all to easy for the Seawolves to be looking ahead to Albany, or to think they can take a breather after the war with Vermont.  Certainly, I would agree that SBU should win this one easily, but only if their heads are in the game--that's why they're actually played, rather than awarded to the perceived better team!!  I said the same thing about the UML game, and that turned out to be a real nail-biter.

GO SEAWOLVES!!

I agree.. This game is not an automatic W..  They do have a Xavier transfer who can score big, Pollard... keep an eye on him....We should win by 20+ though!

ok- despite some poor shot sleection, i thought we played well int eh first half.  walker is doing well adn honorable mention to puriefoy.

but mcalister is absolutely stealing the show!  to quote the commentary from the vermont game on warney, mcalister is doing it all but selling the popcorn!

GO SB!!!

the team looks good.  the lead was opend up to 25 at one point and they ended up holding them off by 20.

some good dunks today and crowdpleasers.  all is well in wolfland as the team goes 7-0 (women are 6-1 btw) heading into albany.

van dyke is doing his job because guys like warney and mcallister and mayo all look like they have 15 more pounds muscle on them.  its no wonder we arent soft under the boards.

commentary said tre is still nursing and injury and coley had an injury scare in the 1st half.  its getting to the point where the team needs to seriously take injuries into consideration, what with how they are playing and seem to be the leading AE candidate at this time.

im kinda curious what you guys think walker's role will be next year when coley and AJ graduate.  to me, walker kinda plays a mix of off guard and small forward, not afraid to take the baseline or go into the paint, but he isnt exactly a point guard.  with two seniors going, and likely that puriefoy will fill one role, i wonder how they will use him.

Hello everyone!!! Seawolves are 7-0! 7-0!!! For the first time ever!!!

... a real surprised. A packed house for a game against Maine two days after a TV game. I would've thought fans would stay home. I guess not.

Lets go Seawolves!!!

Chairman - I posted the exact same comment on the AE boards.  That pregame was brutal.  I hope she gets another shot at it.

Good game from the Wolves.  One thing you cannot get over Pikiell about is his team being ready to always beat the teams they are supposed to beat.  I can't remember that last time we lost to a team that we were favored to beat, especially in conference.

Chairman  I think we see the freshman Thrower at the other guard spot next year.   Walker  becomes  the Tommy  Brenton in the line up.  He defends, rebounds and we know  now he can score.  Put Warney up front with Nyamma . Walker becomes  G/SF which he is playing now.

ok good i like this- i was thinking the same as you for walker- he is sort of a utility guy, a smaller TB, to me at least.

Don't overlook Tyrell Sturdivant.  With the kind of senior year he's having, and a few more pounds, he and Warney would be awesome together as a 4 and 5.  Maybe Nyama becomes the catalyst (i.e. 6th man) off the bench, a la Pureifoy earlier this year.
