OK, everybody, I'm going to be using my homework pass on this one. It's hard to find much of anything on these guys, and let's face it, it's going to be an absolute demolition. Their leading rebounder through two games is 5-9. As a USCAA member, they are unaffiliated with the NCAA, putting them among the likes of Paul Smiths College, Word of Life Bible Institute/Davis, and the Culinary Institute of America (yes, they have hoops). Locally, Five Towns is USCAA and Briarcliffe used to be.
How did this get on the schedule? I can't see anything other than the fact that Geno went to the same high school as the Harriers' head coach, Michael Piatt, who in addition to coaching Miami Hamilton is the VP of business development for some insurance consultancy. But he has some chops! He was an assistant on the 1988 D-III national champion Ohio Wesleyan team, and last year, MH led the USCAA in FG%, three-point FG% and FT%. Yep, all three. I can appreciate somebody who's likely getting paid little but still giving kids a chance to play some ball.
But ... it won't be close. Let's go have some fun, entertain whatever crowd we get, chalk one up in the win column and get out of this unharmed.
