Horrible loss. 36% from the field. 16-26 From the FT line. All the press accolades this week got to our heads.

I'd love to see Elijah's splits at the line – front end and back end. I'm guessing he's much worse on the back end. I mean, you can't expect to go 16-0 – just a tough way to lose after crawling all the way back into it. I think we thought they'd just lay down but they're pretty balanced.

I genuinely thought they'd go 16-0. God damn it. Literally there was no one else in their way aside from maybe the Vermont re-match.

Eight point favorites. You had a damn 6-point lead in the 2nd half with a defense that could not be stopped. How do you lose to HARTFORD of all teams?

Hartford isn’t a bad team; they have a new team entirely with guys who played at Pitt, St Johns, Lafayette, and Marquette. I mean, Dunn comes off the bench and hardly plays.

That said, you can’t expect to win a game shooting 36% from the field and 61% from the line. When we were up 6, it looked like an easy win, but we wilted just like uvm did to us with their 5 point lead. Bad loss, given our 2nd half comeback, just to give it back to them. Too much jinxing press this week, must have gotten to us.

I know it's easy to just blame the positive press, but that doesn't have anything to do with Geno's decision to stop a lineup that held Hartford off the board for 7 minutes. It doesn't have anything to do with Gueye bricking a three or McKenzie's layup juuuust falling out. Idk, seems like an easy copout.

If we and UVM hold serve on Saturday, we'll have a four-way tie for first at the quarter pole. We'll have faced the toughest road to that point – at UVM, at Hartford and home to Albany. UA needed OT to win in Durham tonight.

Then look at the next six for us – Bingo twice, Lowell twice, UMBC and UNH. No excuse not to take at least a five-game winning streak into our rematch with Vermont here.

Green, re: Mac, when Garcia went out, I thought we'd go TPP, TSM or Ochefu there and was surprised to see Mac come out. I thought we had enough ball handling on the floor with Foreman, Olaniyi and Latimer and, with Ochefu, would have preferred size to get on the offensive and defensive glass.

I really think we thought they'd go away when we were up six, but they knocked down one or two massive threes, and Ellison came alive a bit. Not terribly impressed with him BTW.

Watched the end of the UA game in OT. Stole the Game with a late steal/layup in backcourt.

You’re right; Michael Dunne is Jason’s Younger brother. Jadon graduated last year.

Long way to go in season. League is strong enough where I think it’ll take 13-3 to finish first.

This has been bothering me all season but this was the first time it played a role in the final score. The free throws have got to get better. They left 10 points on the table tonight because of them and it honestly played a role in how their lead still wasn't big enough in the 2nd half. I'd never call Olaniyi "automatic", but he was clutch at the line late (10-12 overall). But literally everyone who was fouled today missed a free throw. Last year you had Yeboah who was super reliable.

I really enjoy watching this team but I can't help but wonder why we don't start and play our bigs more.
Whats wrong with getting Ochefu in the rotation? We should have put him in tonight I thought he played really well against Vermont.

I liked the big starting lineup of
Otchere
Gueye
Garcia
Olaniyi
Foreman

Latimer has a high motor bringing him off the bench can spark us.
Follow it up with Ochefu and the 2 freshman guards. McKenzie has had been given way to many minutes for a guard who cannot shoot or create any offense with his passes.

I agree with this all the way. I was pretty surprised when I saw McKenzie getting the crucial minutes he was getting towards the end there. Then Ochefu.... he plays well when he's in, but you so seldom see him he might as well not be on the roster.

Ochefu’s a valuable depth piece when Mo or Big Jeff get into foul trouble. That hook shot against Vermont was amazing. With how well Jeff and Mo were doing tonight he wasn’t really needed but securing the boards late were really important and Ellison beat us there. Would have liked to see Ochefu in for size alone.

McKenzie brutal. Did you see that basket attempt at the one minute mark, late in the fourth quarter? He looked more like a ballet dancer instead of a BB player. He is best suited as the bench cheerleader. Poor guy never did improve from his first year at SB.
