McKenzie played point almost the entire game and was solid (not spectacular but not overwhelmed either)  thoughout. Cornish was either hurt or mostly stuck on the bench.

Moor and Latimer are already above average AE players, IMHO.

A win is a win at the end of the night. Those turnovers were ugly, and that run to start the second half from Bing made it feel like Coach P was coaching the team, but the way we responded to that was beautiful. Moor had a great game and is continuing to improve.

Also, how about BIG JEFF?! 7 blocks? Nuts. He was already top 5 nationally in blocks, tonight only adds to that. The fact Boals was able to find him, and develop him into a shot blocking monster is a testament to his recruiting and coaching ability. Go SB!!

Cornish with 4 TO’s in limited minutes resulted in Boals’ benching of him, I believe. Latimer/Moor both outstanding freshman. And Big Jeff progressing nicely-the key for him is being able to stay on the floor. 7 blocks (but should have been 8; he got roped off on one in 1st half).

Overall, somewhat of an uninspiring win tonight, but again, got the job done.

That first foul was a total joke, and the second one wasn't much better. A real nice night for him. Sessoms had no chance to finish near the hoop, and I think he was totally dejected with the way we defended him. 5 for 23 is unsightly. His season numbers are nice to look at, but it seems to me he's only interested in the game if he has the ball in his hands – no movement without the ball, no energy on defense.

Any bettors had to be sick when Akwasi lost the ball out of bounds at the end.

Curiously no Chef. I was oblivious to it throughout the game and it wasn't mentioned in the postgame. His absence only accentuates Jeff's big night. Man, when he stays on the floor, he is a force whether he's blocking shots or not. He really allows our perimeter guys to challenge shots.

The 25 turnovers is ghastly, but I'll chalk it up as a one-off. Binghamton's D has given us fits before.

I thought Cornish had handled pressure well this season – far better than last year – but this was one of those games that really emphasized ballhandling and decision making against the zone/press. Like I said, I thought he'd done a nice job in all facets to this point in the season.

Love our big guys . Alex with a quick  4 points and Jeff  really beginning to be an intimidating force .  Our turnovers were a disaster but we survived  thank heaven it was Binghamton . Our team continues to improve.

Everything is winning!! I didn't know the ladies were that good until I checked it myself. Great time to be a Seawolf. 2700 is a good turnout given the circumstances. I expect a packed house once Vermont comes to town.

Alex Christie - hopefully he is not on on the roster next season.  It should be no problem upgrading at this spot - can’t waste a scholarship on him.

2,700 - free tickets up to 4 tickets for alumni, which was sponsored by a car dealership on the Island.

Moor definitely needs to see more playing time!

Sloppy game but a win is a win.
I'm very concerned with our turnovers as conference play goes on. Especially the "live ball" turnovers.
We defended in the half court very well though and held them to an extremely low conversion rate. Wasn't all Big Jeff. I love how Olaniyi can sit in a stance and guard 5'9 guards but also can body up a 6'7 forward or slide his feet with an electric wing(Michigan State game). Man he's a stud on that side of the ball. Jules Moor needs more playing time is a tier below Olaniyi defensively.
Im happy big Jeff is getting the hang of his foul trouble. Binghamton started second guessing themselves every drive after that block in Little Sammy where we ICED the ball screen. Jeff took a Horrible angle and Sammy just changed directions to easily get into the lane, he thought he had a lay up (So did I) and Jeff recovers and swats it. That block there changed how they attacked. That is the Otchere Jeff Boals envisioned and why all those Universities wanted him.
How about 29 big minutes from McKenzie. Only turning the ball over 1 time. Compared to Cornish's 4 TO's in half the amount of time. I know the forum has been critical of him but I think the brakes need to be pumped just a little. And I think we all should appreciate him more. He's a steady hand during the storm at times. That 50 foot pass to Moor for the dunk is as good of a pass as you'll see in all levels of basketball. You can't practice that type of feed any better.
As a person who works with HS, College and Pro players for a living I learn to appreciate guys like McKenzie a great deal. Guys like him keep your locker room happy because they give the rock up to teammates very often, are technically sound and don't play outside of themselves. McKenzie almost always fakes a pass, before he makes a pass when he's under pressure. That's Textbook fundamentals. Some of the High major guys I work with still can't grasp that concept. When McKenzie plays within himself and does what he does, I'll take him any day.

Agreed on McKenzie, he's a great ball handler who can take care of the ball in the face of immense pressure, he has his role on this team for sure, though I don't think he can be the leader from the point guard position he needs to be if he wants to start in that role next year. I'd look to the transfer market for that next year. The transfer route has worked well for us heading into this year for sure.

Also, why no Ochefu last night? Figured I'd see him some.

Christie has a ways to go yes, but to be saying this about him this early? Not sure that's warranted. Get him some more minutes in the next couple games against bad competition and see if he plays better.

Christie is young and slow afoot, but what an outstanding move to his left last night (he is right-handed, I believe).  He is certainly a longer-term project, but remember Petras who was raw as heck as a freshman, and turned out to be quite serviceable by his senior year.  I think there is definitely some upside to his game, and he currently provides some nice depth when Otchere and Chef get into foul trouble.

Yeah agreed. He's a 7 footer playing in the America East. We knew he was going to be a project. I think the expectation for all true big men ( I'll say 6' 8" or taller) at this level should be to hope they can develop into significant contributors by the time they are juniors.

All great points.  Still think McKenzie picks up his dribble way too early at times, particularly when under pressure.  I'd like to see him keep the dribble alive longer, and pass off the dribble consistently.  He's obviously earning more playing time with Coach Boals, and quite frankly, I love to see a coach pull someone off the floor, when they are not doing what they are supposed to be doing.

It's going to be so much fun to watch Otchere over the next couple of years. This may be bold, but I'll say it: he's going to play in the NBA.

Christie is a nice piece and he'd be playing a lot more under any other circumstances. The lefty jump hooks are legit by him. He's got a righty hook as well, and can carve out space on the glass.
No he isn't a rim protector nor can he step out and guard the perimeter but being that large gives you the ability to deter penetrators in this league. With further development, he'll be a load. Not just serviceable but load. Junior and Senior year Watch out for him.
