Two of the most hideous second halves you’ll ever see in victory. But I’ll also say it was pretty gutsy of us to go through that lull and then draw even after falling behind by 8 or 9. Big back to back threes from Sekunda and UC to close the gap quickly.

It seems as though the coaching staff is most comfortable with UC running the point late. Who knows what will happen if he ever sees pressure? He isn’t much of a playmaker but will make good decisions I guess. The Cornish turnovers are killer, but I don’t want him looking over his shoulder all the time.

Ty redeems himself after a bad three attempt a minute earlier.

Big first half for Saintel and Almonacy. The latter had eight quick points off the bench to close an early nine point deficit. Saintel was great.

Team really buckled down on defense down the stretch.

UA will be desperate for a W next week and, needless to say, we are due to take one on the chin. We could easily be right there with them at 0-2.

That kid Lynch on Hartford is a nice little player. Attia is a nice player for them too.

Tough gutsy win but I'll take 2-0 to start conference play. I think Garcia is going to be a special player for us. Saintel is showing a lot of development from last year- still probably the best athlete on the court.

Nice. I did miss it, so good to see. Have to assume there was some mention of UC in the Hartford huddle before this shot, and whether or not true the final sequence feels like a counter-move by Boals perhaps knowing Attia would drift off to UC to the extent he did. That's how I'll interpret it, so gold stars and hero badges for SBU all around.

Have to assume, CoB, that the 3 ball won't go away any time soon. It wins games, no other way to look at it.  :)

Okay, so with heroics SBU can squeak by the two projected AE basement-dwellers. What about next week and the two AE powers? I predict by next Saturday night they are either 2-2, 3-1, or 4-0.

9 of 29???

i think you have to admit it was a pretty low % shot, regardless of the result.

with those 20 misses, think we wouldve been safer taking a couple of higher % shots so as to not come down to 1.7 seconds left?

also query why a 3 was even necessary when down 1.

IMO, 2 of the ugliest wins that I’ve seen. We didn’t play well, and only late clutch shots by us, and some help from the opposition, allowed us to win. No offense to Sturdivant, but you have to scratch your head when Boals said that winning hoop was just as he diagrammed it up. Seriously? Sturdivant from 3 is the shot we wanted?

Lots of talent on this team, but we are not just geling yet IMO.  With Lamb done for the year though, this thing is wide open.
