So , you guys say what you want but Petras cost us this game

In 11 minutes, he cost us the game?

I’d say it was an inability to contain Wright-Foreman. He’s a pro somewhere. Made his threes, got to the line a ton, and led the second-half comeback. He had all seven points in the run that took it from 77-all to 84-77. Sekunda’s foul on the three pointer right after Akwasi made three was DEVASTATING.

Buie had a career high 19 too. Brutal.

I don’t think Mac or Almonacy saw the floor in the second half. Very little Iroegbu too. Cornish went the whole way, and Sekunda came pretty close. How about 36 minutes for him? Glad to see it. He is really on the mark this year, and he and Cornish really kept us afloat in this one.

Really weak crowd. Should’ve been played on a weekend night. The whole year has been quiet. Truthfully, you should drive through town and on campus and never be able to forget that there’s a big game on the schedule. Nobody here even knows it’s happening.

We really could use a kid like Sabety - big, strong athlete who can protect the paint and doesn’t look hopeless offensively. I’m amazed he ever got to Tufts. You just can’t ignore his size. He and Gustys rendered Ty moot inside

We were up by 9 when Petras came in off the bench and caused 2 turnovers and 3 fouls in 5 minutes, ultimately shrinking the lead down to 2 within 60 seconds. I should know, I was at the game. My section was going crazy yelling to take Petras out because we saw how horrible he was playing and our lead slipping away. SB never lead after that..

might be an even bigger problem than losing the game!

Looks like "win" has since been deleted. The new link: http://stonybrookathletics.com/news/2017/12/12/mens-basketball-cornish-leads-strong-second-half-for-the-seawolves-in-battle-of-long-island.aspx

A picture of Sekunda when Cornish is in the headline.  ???  :-\  ::)   :D

Bummed about the loss, but I like the Cornish, Olaniyi, Sekunda, Yeboah, Sturdivant lineup. Their best basketball this season is still ahead of them.

At the moment, I do too. That feels like the strongest lineup/best five right now. Among the SBU weapons, that lineup covers best about what we got. Of course the tradeoff is not as much punch coming off the bench. But, maybe that's the way to go...a smaller, best group playing 30+ mins a game.

(by the way, did anyone think maybe Saintel was sick last night? Was pulled quickly after starting, disappeared for awhile, and then didn't play much after)

A lot of uncharted territory with this SBU team, and one would hope that, yes, things will continue to improve heading into AE play.
