America East Preseason Poll

I was pleasantly surprised to see us predicted to finish third, narrowly edging Albany for that spot. I think it will have been a real good year if we get there.

More notable was Olaniyi's omission from the six-player preseason all-conference team. Lamb's an obvious choice, but taking into account both ends of the court as well as leadership, I think you can easily argue for Olaniyi to be there over any of the other five. May the snub motivate him all year long.

that's ok.  this kinda stuff doesnt mean anything.  literally- nothing.

in fact i might even argue the season-ending awards don't mean much either.

I think Albany could be a real threat this year. I don't see UMBC being better than us though. We weren't supposed to be all that good last year yet we WAY overachieved throughout the non-conference schedule. A 2nd place projected finish would be appropriate, and is the best we can really hope for with Lamb deciding not to go to the NBA.

Agree that Elijah sort of got screwed here. It’ll provide him with extra motivation. I think 3rd is fair. Lots of unknowns: new coach and lots of new faces; we’ll need a few of them to step up to equal last year’s season performance. RE:Lamb, it’s not that he opted out of nba, it’s more like the nba didn’t want him. If there was ever a year that he had a chance at nba, it would have been with this year with the weak class (minus the top 2 picks).
