Embarassing. Literally who the hell is St. Peter's? Laughable that Stony Brook is being blown out this much by a no-name school.

Showing some pride here. I was going to rib Rodriguez a little bit, but he's gotten to the hoop to score or dish. Nice night from Sayles – he's looking at a career high already.

sayles showing a LOT of tools tonight (blocks, midrange jumper, layup in traffic, boards, distribution).  adding in his size, he's gonna be a player for us.

FTs have been awful tonight.

Looks like a .500 kind of team. They showed a little something in the last 10 minutes or so. SPU was on pace for like 90 but we made some plays on the defensive end.

I'd love to go into the good and the bad, but I missed too much of the game because of the stupid stream. It's good to see offensive production from Sayles, Diallo and Policelli – we ought to be able to get it from a few places this year. Rodriguez had a good second half. More of the same from Gueye. It was interesting to see Habwe only play a minute or two – I thought we'd see more of him.

That was utterly humiliating.

The minute distribution is interesting – thought TSM would get more time. Gueye with only 2 pts is pretty unacceptable.

I canceled my lifetime Peacock Digital network subscription......

Saw some of the 2nd half. Rodriguez showed some potential with his pass-first mentality. Like Sayles; big body and you can tell he’s a player. Policelli can shoot, he’ll be our shooter this year. Didn’t see much else except for a bunch of TO’s and horrendous FT shooting.  MAAC is def a notch above the AE, so final score not a surprise.

Geno has got s lot of work to do with this new team.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

*didnt see everything, but-

it's early, and it's one game.  but i think you gotta leave jay-say and the policeman on the court for pretty much 35+min each.

gueye and rodriguez should handle the ball less if they are going to be TO machines and/or inefficient.

prob can't blame FT woes on the pandemic... no one in particular, just a team effort.

maybe start diallo?  wasnt impressed with greene's defense a few times, considering he comes from MC, where that's what they do.

the feed prevented me from seeing diallo in that first half, what did you guys see?

Pretty sure that TSM was unavailable for one reason or another. No chance he got a DNP-CD.

Greene wasn't this big offensive threat, but you have to hand it to him for leading us on the glass. Just as a second ballhandler, I think he needed to be out there with the first unit tonight with TSM out. I suspect TSM slides into that role whenever he's available.

This season is going to be a disaster. 90% of Jeff Boals team departed when Geno took over. That says something. I hate to say it SB fans, but I honestly,  truly see dark days ahead of us with Football and Basketball. Definitely not heading in the right direction. It was fun with Pikiel and Boals for 10+ seasons.

Whole new team against a good st peters team who had game experience. it could have been worse turnovers and free throws are correctable errors. Sayles Policelli looked good they need to be on the court 30 plus minutes. But this team is gonna need Mo Gueye to play better

Good post, P5. Welcome aboard.

It was bleak midway through the second half – 70-47 is the score that sticks out to me. SPU was on pace to put up 90 on us. At that point, we saw Rodriguez assert himself a little more – too much on a couple occasions as he pushed off. Maybe my favorite part of the night was his ability to break down his defender, get into the paint and do something good with it. Not a ton of assists but he was in position for them.

I don't know that Sayles is a 15-point guy for us but it was a welcome addition.

ESPN had TSM not playing, but the SBU box shows him playing five minutes. I missed that. If that's correct, that's very curious usage for me. I wonder what's up.

For you no-threes people, the 21 we shot tonight is below 25 a night from a year ago. I'm good with either number.

If we don't beat Fairfield on Friday, the probability of going into conference play at 0-5 is very high. Of course, all these non-con games are to get us ready for the ones that matter.
