--Could someone square me away re: Kameron Mitchell?  Everything I've seen shows that he has committed to SBU.  But, I can't find any reference to a LOI; nor can I see any indication that he is red shirted, or even attending SBU this fall.  Does anyone know the scoop?  This seems to be the best kept secret since the Bin Laden raid!!

--On a related front, has anybody seen any indication that any of the new Frosh are being red-shirted this year?

I think Mitchell is on campus.   We are at our max for scholarships this season (13) so he cant redshirt either. Expect to see him next season.

I thought Mitchell was in the '13 class?  I haven't heard anyone say that he has been playing pick-up, which to me means that he's not on campus, as I would think all the players have been playing.....as for redshirting, I'd have to think at least one of the Frosh will redshirt, as you guys have a ton of guards, including 2 Seniors.....

Saw a couple '13 commits for Albany, as well as a JUCO.  You need another strong class in '13, as it looks like Albany is getting very aggressive on the recruiting front.

20 Under-The-Radar Freshmen For The 2012-13 College Basketball Season

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/09/06/rothstein-files-20-under-the-radar-freshmen-for-the-2012-13-college-basketball-season/

JAMEEL WARNEY, STONY BROOK
THE SKINNY: There’s simply no way Warney should be playing in the America East Conference — he’s too good. Steve Pikiell has an anchor for the next four years in Warney, a broad shouldered player who lives in the paint.

That is definitely a bittersweet comment. Its good that it highlights that we are recruiting at a high end but it would be terrible if he bolts prior to his arrival. He better not leave with that new Arena on U/C... lol

He will stay.  He had quite a few Big Time Programs lookjng at him including Villanova. He is  quite smart so he knew the  deal before he arrived, the America East isnt the Big East.

I don't remember reading that Villanova was looking at him.

On another note, not sure where else to put this, but I noticed that Ahmad Reid appeared to change his name to Ahmad Walker. Anyone know why?
