2012 SB Basketball Recruiting
« on: October 04, 2011, 09:13:21 pm »
Two commitments so far SF Ryan Burnett and PF Jameel Warney.

Two scholarships remaining. I believe we have scholarships out to PG Carson Puriefoy, SG Isaiah Cousins, and PF Clifton Cornish.

I think PG should be Stony Brook's first priority as they need to replace four year starter, Bryan Dougher, at the 1.

Saw on twitter that 5' 10" Norcom PG will take an official to Stony Brook. He averaged 11.5 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game last year on the 3rd ranked high school team in the country.

Hope he signs !   With the other two  verbal commits  we could be a power house  with a pure PG.

Some other guys we have been recruiting but don't have any confirmed offers

PG Sekou Harris
PG Lebrent Walker
PG Nigel Sydnor
SG Emile Blackman

and then there are two recently reclassified 2013's from Marianapolis prep. I'm curious if we would offer either a scholarship for 2012?
PF George Senat
PG Dayshon Smith

I haven't seen any updates regarding Isaiah Cousins since July, but he could be a big time player Stony Brook. His last scholarship offer list was Stony Brook, Iona, Hofstra, Quinnipiac, Manhattan and he listed Stony Brook as one of the schools recruiting him the hardest.

Anyone know if Bishop Eustace will play Roselle Catholic this winter? Would love to see two of our commits play.

My wish list for the last scholarship is either Isaiah Cousins or Terry Brutus. I have no idea if either is currently considering Stony Brook but I believe we were recruiting both at one point. If we land either of those two, this class would be phenomenal in my opinion.

Nice class coming in. Good job by the coaches. Let's keep our heads about us as fans and savor the joys and excitement this year will bring and remember that BU & Vermont recruits are always so highly touted too. Let's not yet get too high on what is as yet unproven on the D-I court. Takes a while for folks to settle into the role. We should show these kids patience and support as they grow into their potential.
