The first OOC home game's on the calendar for us. We'll host Army on Sunday, December 18. I'm assuming it's a matinee.

Initial post updated. I'm curious who we open up with at home to start the CAA era.

Nice. I just wished we host Army on last page. They don’t read these threads, do they? I hope not.

If you look at past CAA schedules, they look a lot like what we've had in the past—a minor uptick for sure, but juggernauts won't be clamoring to come here with any regularity either. That said, I think our conference schedule will bring in teams that would have been our best/most interesting home game in most years. Also, this year, I think it would be a feather in our cap if we had one headliner to usher in the new era.

But expect plenty of Sacred Hearts, Fairfields, CCSUs, et al, every single year ad infinitum.

Update: No St. John's this year. Would've been nice.

Heard that "this week" was the plan for the schedule so I'm hoping that we have some more info here shortly.

I'm really curious how this schedule shakes out. Looking at Hofstra's, they have some really nice dates already for a CAA team—three A-10 teams (albeit low-end A-10 teams), including GW at home; also Purdue, St. Mary's, South Florida and Iona. I really hope our secondary games (non-Florida, non-West Virginia) are better than they've been in the past. Sacred Heart, Fairfield, CCSU, Bryant, Wagner, American, Farmingdale, like last year ... not gonna cut it anymore.

The 2022-23 schedule page is wiped clean right now. Maybe today's the day?

A dog of a home schedule if you ask me. Only five games and two against Miami Hamilton and St. Joe's (LI). Am I really paying the same price for a seat when there were eight games last year?

I do like Yale and Army, and the CAA home schedule is a bump no matter what, but I expected a little more. Maybe that's on me.

St. Joe's is a wash compared to Farmingdale (both local D3), but don't understand the Miami Hamilton booking.  How about St. John's, Adelphi, Manhattan, Iona, Columbia, etc?
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

What a joke! Two non-D1s? When was the last time that happened???

Aside from Army, this is the exact same home schedule we would have booked in the America East? Ridiculous!

Some other thoughts ...

- I do like the away schedule. URI is a nice addition to the pillar games at Florida and West Virginia, and we'll get good tests from Wagner, Bryant, Brown and Eastern Washington, who were all in the KenPom top 220.
- No matter what you think of the home schedule, take solace in this: There were six CAA teams in the KenPom top 200 last year, including Towson at #75. The AE had Vermont at #54 and then everybody else at 240 or below. I am pumped about the basketball we're going to see, at least from our opponents  ;D
- As for that home schedule, I mean, I guess for a brand new team it wouldn't hurt to give everybody some run against a USCAA team like Miami Hamilton. I guess? I dunno. I wish we had them and St. Joe's as exhibitions rather than games we'd actually have to pay full price for.
- No AE teams this year except new addition Bryant. To which I say "good."
- Even if Towson isn't this massive name to anybody, our CAA home opener's a big one.
- Very difficult finish to the season with our rivalry game against Hofstra and then visits to UNCW and Charleston.
- Worth noting that we're on the Thu/Sat schedule now as opposed to Wed/Sat.
- I don't think I'm out of touch, maybe I'm crazy, maybe it's a sign of the times but ... I have no idea who the front man is here. Do you? https://twitter.com/StonyBrookMBB/status/1559551567975649281
