yes, always a danger to lose someone now in a short 12 months.  also, UMass was after him already.

what's the story with his brother, any details?

on the radar- offer out to Victory Naboya: http://www.ozarkssportszone.com/2020/11/22/class-2-boys-basketball-players-to-watch/

Naboya has never played a varsity game in the Ozarks, but the 6-foot-8 D1 prospect will have an instant impact this winter. He already holds offers from SMU, Sacred Heart, Towson and Stony Brook.

The Seawolves just picked up a commitment from '21 SG Kaine Roberts (out of Tokyo, Japan of all places)!!  It seems like he plays for a "pro-like" team called the Samurais, if I'm interpreting the info correctly.  I'm trying to learn more about him.

This will fill in 2 of the 4 expected open spots for next season (along with Shumpert, if I'm not mistaken.

SBU got a commitment from a JUCO product. Don’t know anything about him, but saw it on Twitter.

Good find, Air. It's so difficult to interpret what the junior college numbers all mean. Juwan White shot the lights out at Butler but barely saw the floor here. But JFR was as advertised. I like what I'm reading about him on Twitter – very anecdotally I understand. On the flipside, I don't love seeing that his production decreased over the course of the season.

Here's video of him from prep school.

Would like to see SBU get back to the 4-year guys, which is how Pikiell built it. Other than El-amin, don't recall many other juco/transfer types. But GF may be feeling some pressure to win fast at this point.

Youll will see three more years of transfers in and out. Im sure SH and he will say thats the new transfer rules but we know who GF is.  GF is not here for the longhaul.

just curious- why only three years?  i guess what im saying is, wont this have a somewhat perpetual effect, meaning if every class gets 5 years, then we can just keep redshirting freshmen (a la FBS).

sure, at some point, it will shake out where the benefit of 5 years is lost, but that should take time...

3 years because hopefully there will be a new AD and new HC and things will get back to being a program that embraces it's fans after GF is gone.

SH is a good AD. I just think he doesn't know, or his hands are tied with handling a state institution like SB when it comes to raising money. The problem SB, and other SUNY schools have is Albany. Cuomo could care less about allocating funds for any athlete's programs. He rather line the pockets of his special interest groups who give millions to the Democratic campaigner. more specific, his campaign.

It doesn't matter who the AD is for SB. If Cuomo gets reelected, which is a very strong possibility again, SB will be very limited in resources to fire coach P or GF and bring in a better replacement.
