Both Athlon and Street & Smith's picked Stony Brook to finish fourth, behind Vermont (obviously), Albany and UMBC.

That's some meaty bulletin board fodder for the team.

With Hartford graduating their starters, picking the these Top 4 is a no-brainer.  It's too early to pick the ordering of them though, IMO.

Add CBB Central to the list who have us fourth. They have Olaniyi as an all-conference first teamer.

FYI, no word yet on whether or not Policelli will be eligible this season.

Interesting.  Not sure how UA outranks us out of the gate, but I guess everyone is treating the Yeboah loss as a big one.  Surprised too that Policelli decision still in limbo, with season starting in less than a month.  Maybe that's a good sign, then again, maybe not.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

New coach. New players equal uncertainty until proven otherwise.

I have absolutely no clue how this year will turn out.

It's almost that time of year guys!! Feels weird getting hyped for basketball smack dab in the middle of football season, but  our first game tips off in a week, then shortly after that it's on the road at Preseason #12 Big East member Seton Hall. I'm excited at the chance to take down a big name opponent early. We lose Yeboah, but we get so much experience back and this team is young. I'll definitely do my best to attend the UVA and American games. Go SB!!

Yeah, bummer that we lost Warney in his 7th year of eligibility  :)

There's some great analytical insight in this preview:
https://www.three-man-weave.com/3mw/america-east-preview-2020

TL;DR? Yeboah was a huge difference maker for us defensively. Cornish was a cog that made our offense run. Foreman can really shoot the ball. Otchere is an elite shot blocker.

From the article, which you should absolutely read:

Bottom Line: Despite the loss of Jeff Boals and Akwasi Yeboah, Stony Brook appears to be a legitimate 2nd-place contender in the America East this season. The Seawolves have work to do on the offensive end, particularly from a ball handling and shooting standpoint, but new blood and experience should help ease that effort. Defense and physicality should continue to be elite.

Great article, thanks for sharing.  Only read SBU part, will need to review remainder.  Akwasi loss really hurts.  Policelli waiver transfer denial hurts too, as it would have partially offset Akwasi loss, since Policelli is known to be a shooter.  I like our starting 5, but what stands out to me currently is potential shooting and scoring issues, and also the lack of depth on this squad.  Some of the new guys are going to have to step up big time, if we're going to finish 2nd (or 1st), IMO.

yes thanks for sharing.

the most critical part- to me at least- is who will take the 1.  foreman, ceesay, mack, perhaps TPP or TSM?  committee?

we are very, very solid at the 2, 3 and 5.  maybe even at the 4 depending on where garcia lands, maybe gueye.

I think it's a foregone conclusion that Makale is getting the nod at the 1, even though he's a 2.  If that doesn't work out, I think by committee may be the next order of business.

BTW, Ceesay is done for year (ACL I think).

IMO, the most talented and versatile player on this year's team, and I'm not trying to slight any of the other athletes on this team.  He is just that good and he has a very high ceiling IMO:
