The Bucknell addition puts us at five home games and the neutral site "home" game against Maryland. I know they were trying to get to 14 home games all together, so maybe one more, maybe not. I like that some of these high-end road games are drivable.

Bucknell releases its schedule at noon today so we'll lock into a date then.

I've also learned Stony Brook will have one non-D1 opponent on the schedule as well, which will of course be a home game. Unfortunate, but D2/D3 games are unavoidable these days. Fortunately it's just the one.

I was afraid of that happening. With all these good OCC games being played, I really thought Boals was going to save us from playing a D2/D3 game..

I'd rather get some bottom feeder from a weak D1 league (MEAC, SWAC, WAC, etc) than a D2 team. Was Chicago State really not available for a home game here?

Still, I'll bite the bullet on a D2 game if it means getting all the games we have gotten. In the past we'd have much worse schedules and still have the D2 game on there. I'll complain about it on here, but it's really not the biggest deal.

It's pretty common and, although not ideal, be glad it's just one! UNH plays Wheelock and Lyndon State. Binghamton gets Hartwick and Elmira. Hofstra gets Molloy and so does St. John's. I'm sure Vermont will have at least one as well.

I actually don't mind the sub D1 games. It's nice to see the entire team play and get a look at the end of the bench.

D3  teams are a good tune up for any Div 1 team.  Get all the kinks out  since last March .

The conference schedule is out!

That stretch in January is brutal – five of six on the road. But it all evens out.

We will visit LIU Brooklyn on December 4.

Guessing we will get UConn after Maryland and Ball State after Bucknell.

Official schedule release: http://www.stonybrookathletics.com/news/2017/8/22/mens-basketball-stony-brook-announces-2017-18-schedule.aspx

If you were wondering, Shawnee State went 9-19 overall and 2-12 in the NAIA Mid-South Conference last year.

I'd rather the sub-Division I game be a local D-II just so we can check in on some Long Island players, but let's face it – that's barking just to bark. This is a great schedule.

Wait. Is the 11/22 game against Brown seriously a 2pm tip? On a Wednesday? The home opener???

Edit: CONFIRMED with the ticket office. 2pm weekday tip.
