If this Westbrook is Russell's forgotten younger brother, I say let's get him out here!

I was really hoping SBU would get this guy if Thrower didn't return.  But, the Seawolves just signed another JUCO G instead--Uchenna Iroegbu (Yikes!) just signed his LOI for 2016.  If this doesn't convince you that Thrower is gone, nothing will!!

I see nothing exceptional about this JUCO.. Maybe we could have waited a little longer to find that something better? Hope I am overreacting..

From what I've been able to read and see so far, I tend to agree with you on this one, Hammer.  I would have much preferred the Westbrook kid.  But, Coach B. must have seen something that we haven't.

I like the highlights I've seen from him. Junior College stats leave something to be desired though. I wouldn't be shocked if he's coming in as a preferred walk-on, and that he signed a financial aid agreement like we see with a lot of football walk ons.

Coach Boals is not playing around and is putting together a real nice club.

Really an interesting pick up as an assistant coach and former ESPN Analyst .  Want to see our schedule see if any D3 teams will be on it.

Very good point about that Seawolf97..Last season we had two div3 schools come to the Brook. That was unacceptable. Coach Pikiell always told me teams didn't want to play us at our house, mainly because of Warney. I'm not so sure about that, but who knows.

As a season ticket holder I dont want to be watching no div3 school play SB.. I will voice my concern to Bowles if that continues....

I like the Asst. Coach pick, as well.  Certainly comes with the creds.  And, am I the only one that noticed he looks just like Jay Young?!?!?  I am curious about one thing though--with that experience behind him, why would he have left coaching to become an ESPN commentator?

Re: the OOC schedule, we seem to go through this discussion every year.  I suspect that the inability to get enough interesting D-1 games at home has several contributing factors.  Warney may have been one, but certainly far from the only one.  I think it probably has more to do with $$, location out on the Island, lack of desire to play an AE team at their home, and several others.  I agree that playing two D-3 teams is not appealing.  But, I believe that the USMMA game had a lot to do with the relationship of Pikiell/SBU to their coach.  My guess is that we'll see at least one (maybe 2) D-2 or even one D-3 team again this year.  But, I'm O.K. with that so long as the rest of the schedule is strong.  I'm hearing that we'll likely be playing both Rutgers and Ohio State.  Add a couple of the Ivy's, and maybe a MAC team, and we'll have the beginnings of a very fun OOC season, don't you think?

I just saw that Thrower's case has been continued until 7/19 and McGrew's to 8/8--another blow to swift justice.   Anyway, looks like the roster finalization may be delayed just a bit longer.

Nice to see Garcia, Almonacy and Iroegbu officially added to the roster.  But, does anyone know what happened to Junior Saintel?  I would have expected him to be added as well.

keve aluma is getting some nice attention, but there is this: http://www.delmarvanow.com/story/sports/local/maryland/2016/07/26/sports-notes-offers-continue-roll-aluma/87577326/

Since July 22, the 6-foot-7 forward has been offered by UTEP, UMBC and Loyola (MD). In addition to those, the versatile big man also holds scholarship offers from UMES, Coppin State, Howard, Canisus and Stony Brook.

He has yet to receive an offer from Power-5 conference school, and Stony Brook is the only school from that list that made the NCAA tournament last season. But more offers look to roll in as his summer and senior season progresses.

Does anyone have a handle on the situation with Junior Saintel?  At the Meet-and-Greet with Coach B. a couple of weeks ago it was indicated that he just had to finish off a couple of courses at junior college, and that he would arrive on campus shortly.  I'm beginning to get suspicious.  Looking at his school's calendar, it seems that the second summer session is already over.  I hope SBU doesn't have another Ben Homes (Football) situation on its hands!!
