Akwasi Yeboah was ranked the 5 best under 19 prospect in the UK last year. The four kids in front of him were all born either a year or two years before Akwasi.

Also we was playing in the same league as Danny Carter this year, and actually elminated Danny's Reading Rockets from the playoffs in the semi finals.

I'm not saying that this kid (Campbell) isn't good.  He certainly is well touted in some of the press I've seen (couldn't find any video).  However, he sounds like the definition of a "project", after missing his entire senior year due to injury and weighing only 205 lbs. at 6'11" (big time weight room candidate).  So, I can't imagine that he would log any minutes this coming season.  I also notice that, at least from what I can tell, he didn't get an offer from SBU (only interest).

The candidate from Ohio I would hope the Seawolves are able to get is '16 PF/C Darius Harper.  The offer has been in for some time, and they may have a reasonable shot.  I think he could really be a good one!!

So, that said, I'm left with my original question:  What is Plan B for immediate impact scholarships for the coming season?

Just an update that it looks like we've offered Campbell. I agree that he sounds like a project, but presumably he's worked out for our coaches though and they have liked what they have seen.

I wonder if this offer means we're out of the running for ogunyemi? The only placed I've seen us mentioned with Ogunyemi was on the st. bonaventure message board. Maybe we were never really involved.

Its a beautiful thing. He could only be better coming in for 2 more seasons. Mr. Heilbron told me at the girls lacrosse game on Sat, Stony Brook interviewed a big Center who is still in highschool, no further details!!

He must have been talking about Alonzo Campbell out of the Columbus, OH area.  They seem to be high on him, and have offered.

Looks like Ogunyemi is transferring to BU.

The latest info I saw is that Campbell has narrowed his choices to either Kennesaw St. or Stony Brook.  I say that's no contest!!  If the kid is as smart as we hope he's talented, SBU is the clear choice, don't ya think?

Note: Since an issue was raised about this in the '16 Recruiting link, I posted this info there as well.

Looks like former Boston College coach Al Skinner is now at Kennesaw State. Still I like our chances. Hopefully our coaches can get this done

Press release for Yeboah and Campbell

http://www.stonybrookathletics.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/051315aac.html

I would think both Yeboah and Campbell redshirt next year, allowing you to have 11 players who should see time based on situation, with you being 2 deep at every position.  Having a European trip and the 10 practices allowed plus the games is perfect for you so that Woodhouse and Walker get some game action in.

Agree 100% Quick.

I'm very excited for this upcoming season. I think this team is going to make some serious noise.

I agree, very interested in seeing the non-conference schedule.  This team should be very experienced and therefore competitive with most teams.  Also like to see them use their depth to push pace at both ends of the floor.  I expect surprising (to some) improvement with Petras with a year in system/training/skill work giving them ability to play big at times vs large opponents.  Also a lot of 4 out 1 in surrounding Warney with shooters/slashers.  Your best team on paper for sure.

This could be  a great team coming up  always  hopeful that we can get over the March Hump in AE.  Only  non conference games I know we have are home against Hofstra and Princeton other that I hope we post a good OOC schedule. .
