Please note that my previous post was incomplete and should be disregarded.  Please read this one instead.  Sorry (and thanks):

It seems to me that time is extremely short now to add someone new to the roster for this year.  Am I wrong about that?  It would be a shame to upset the chemistry of a team whose members have apparently bonded with each other over the summer and, I think, have already started to work out together.  A rush to add a lesser player from those remaining at this stage just because he's a true "big", I think would be a serious mistake.  I'd like to see how the new guys perform and give this team a shot to mature.

Instead, I'd like to see a full court press on getting a really good big man for next year, who can grow with the team.  I've been checking out the write-ups on the '15 PF/C candidates, and found the following to be particularly interesting.  If any of you, who are closer to the program than I am, agree; perhaps you could call attention to them to one of Coach P's staff.  I picked them (although info is severely limited) because they are not currently overwhelmed with offers or too heavily recruited, seem to be highly talented with good upside potential, are in areas where SBU has recruited before and seem to be in situations indicating solid academic standing.

I'd be interested in some feedback.  Here are the names:

Seth Dugan (Ostego, MI)
Jimbo Lull (Palos Verdes, CA)
Antonio Vrankovic (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Brad Brechting (Cedar Springs, MI)

I agree  Gold.  Bring in a new  guy in November through a NLOI and start him fresh next summer.  We are not hurting for bigs at the moment. Don't redshirt next season but give him some minutes since Warney and King will be seniors and let him gain some experience.  Then in 2016  let him play . A good 6'10 plus kid around 250 world work.

Here's some hot news!!  Looks like both Scott King and Chris Braley will be transferring, opening up two potentially immediately impactful schollys for 2015-2016 to fill in a big hurry.  If Coach P. and his staff play their card right, this could turn out to be a huge boost for the Seawolves!!  I hate to see the guys go, but what an opportunity this could be.

Scott King and Chris braley transferring out of SB.. Why is that you ask?? I'll tell you why! Coach P hardly ever played King...  I was stomping my feet all season screaming at coach P for not starting or using King more often..I'm surprised Warney and Tre didn't leave the program too.... Braley is no lost to the program.. I am angry again!!!!!It will open up 2 scholarships or transfers for next season. I'm not sure who's left this late in the season for scholarships though. !!!!!

There are a bunch of JUCO showcases around the country this time of year.  Maybe one of them and/or an international player.   Can understand Braley wanting to leave to get PT.

Here's an idea!!  Wouldn't it be great if Tyler Harris could play his last year of eligibility at SBU--in front of his hometown fans and family?  The Seawolves and Tyler could be a match made in heaven.  He was a big star at HHH West high school a few years back, and averaged in double figures against really tough competition at Providence.  His situation is the mirror image of Scott King's, as he would have immediate playing eligibility as a grad student at SBU.  His older brother Harris plays in the NBA.  He would fill a much needed additional scoring threat inside, and open things up more for Warney and McGrew.  He's not a big rebounder, but could certainly fill  a need at SF/Wing, where Nyama has not yet seemed to achieve consistency.  Somebody should whisper in Coach P's ear about this, don't you think?

is it odd that king would transfer so late in the career?
There are 29,413,039 corporations in America; but only one Chairman of the Board.

If he weren't graduating, I would agree.  But, I could certainly understand, given his limited playing time, immediate eligibility to play somewhere else and potentially wanting to pursue his graduate work at a different university from where he completed his BA, why he would make a move.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if he turned up at UNH or somewhere else in New England to be closer to home.

Looks like it's not in the cards.  Hope Coach P. will come up with one or two good ones.

Am I the only one disturbed by the fact that although the Seawolves have two open schollys and a clear need for improved and consistent shooting, that there have apparently been no offers put forward for any of the available transfers or JUCO players out there?  I've seen press re: some pretty good ones, but many  (even those with immediate eligibility to play) seem to be being gobbled up by other schools.  Anybody have a clue as to what the scoop is, or how much of a "full court press" Coach P. and his staff are putting forward on the hunt?

It's my understanding Coach P is traveling to London to look at a prospect and then next stop Virginia. I have no idea if these prospects are JUCO or Transfers, but I hope he brings in  a starter and not a "work in progress". We have too many of those sitting on the bench already!!
