Good news we are  drawing high profile  athletes  in all sports. Too bad  he is going to Mich State. But hey maybe we get the next one  for basketball or football or some other  sport.  Get few here and there and we get noticed even more . Still think our best times are still ahead of us !

I do agree that our recruits are getting better.  I'm sure, however, that Davis's inclusion of SBU in his top 5 was largely influenced by his high school teammate--DeShaun Thrower.  Can't wait to see that kid in a Seawolves uniform!!  I saw a recent writeup on him that said that he has amazing shooting range and is devastating on defense!!

A little mouse told me that Coach Pikiell was in Europe with every intention of inking a 7 footer.  Interesting indeed.

A true 7 footer would be a huge get for us if he can shoot and defend.  Go get em coach!

To be on campus in September or for the 2015-2016 school year?

OK - the Rabb post on the AE boards was purely trolling.  The seven footer I do not have good specifics about (Eastern European maybe) but was told Coach had every intention of getting him here right now.  We do have a scholarship to replace Walker if we need it correct?  Let me do some digging and get some better info for you.  Coach made the trip overseas - I do not know the result.

More importantly, hope that he is not a dud. A lot of 6'8" guys can play center more effectively than a lot of 7 footers can, especially at the low-major level. There was a 6'11" center during SBU's D-III days in the 70s, and he was an average center at best.

The 7 footer didn't pan out.  While he was Finisher he was not good enough.  Confident we will be bringing in one more player (probably European) before school starts.  (Like my play on words there?)

It seems to me that time is extremely short now to add someone new to the roster for this year.  Am I wrong about that?  It would be a shame to upset the chemistry of a team whose members have apparently bonded with each other over the summer and, I think, have already started to work out together.  A rush to add a lesser player from those remaining at this stage just because he's a true "big", I think would be a serious mistake.  I'd like to see how the new guys perform and give this team a shot to mature.

Instead, I'd like to see a full court press on getting a really good big man for next year, who can grow with the team.  I've been checking out the write-ups on the '15 PF/C candidates, and found the following to be particularly interesting.  If any of you, who are closer to the program than I am, agree; perhaps you could call attention to them to one of Coach P's staff.  I picked them (although info is severely limited) because they are not currently overwhelmed with offers, seem to be highly talented with good upside potential, are in areas where SBU has recruited before and seem to be in situations indicating solid academic standing.

I'd be interested in some feedback.
