You do realize we won't see him play for 2 years because Pikiel will Redshirt him !!!!

Actually, Hammer, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Sturdivant will not be reshirted.  My guess is that just as with Warney and Puriefoy, Studivant and Thrower may play in their freshman year to help fill the gaps left by Jackson/Coley and McAlister.  My bet is that Bryan Sekunda will be reshirted to help him get his shooting eye and defense back after his injury rehab.

I hope you're right about that because having Sturdivant play  would make a huge impact on the court, immediately not to mention, Roland Nyama will be out on the court with him !!

Here's the latest on Sturdivant to whet your appetite for next year.  His HS (Chester) remained undefeated after winning this evening, and Sturdivant's stats read:

--24 points
--12 rebounds
--7 blocks

Yikes!!!

So we put him up front with Warney  and let them dominate the boards . Like what Im seeing for next year.  The new guard from Michigan  Thrower  is supposed to  excellent also.

The Chester High School Clippers suffered their first loss this evening.  Sturdivant did score 16 points, but apparently was in serious foul trouble throughout the game.  So, I didn't see any stats for him re: rebounds or blocks.  Well, I guess you just can't win 'em all, can you?

i watched the sturdivant video over the wkd... i like what i see (of course).  is it me or is he a similar build to warney?  if so they will be a nightmare in the boards together.

From what I saw on his video he is about the same size as far as weight and of course they are both 6'8.

Another tidbit for those of you following SBU's incoming class for 2014-2015:

Deshaun Thrower is reportedly still not 100% due to the effects of a foot injury he suffered toward the end of football season, so all he did yesterday in his high school's O/T victory over one of the top HS teams in the country was:
Points: 17
Assists: 7
Steals: 3

Makes you wonder what he'll be like at a 100%, doesn't it?

Article I found on Bryan Sekunda from late November.  I think this may be a great class coming in.

On another note for next year.  There are a couple guys on the end of the bench who do not seem to be getting in the mix at all.  Coming into the season I speculated there may too many guys for not enough playing time.  Is it possible we see our first transfer out, opening up another spot for next year?  I look at what we have coming back and I see a massive glaring hole at 2 guard.  Maybe bring in another JUCO transfer to really solidify that Warney/Puriefoy class?  We find the right off guard, someone who can really stroke it and play some D and we could be really really special for the next two years.

A bunch of guys have transferred out since Pikiell became coach.  Next year's starting 2 is redshirting this season.

A 6'6" long, lanky 2 guard?  I'm not buying it.  We need someone who can defend and guard on the perimeter, shooters and drivers.  If anything Nyama goes to the 3 and Walker moves to 2.  That is not an ideal answer.  Walker can defend like crazy but cannot shoot.  We NEED a shooter.

i dont see as much as you guys do- but i concur with this- that may be what separates us from the next level of recruits- is that real shooting ability.  we have the size, some of the speed, enough intelligence.  it would be nice to get another dougher in the mix for this role.  GO SB

Pikiell recruited him as his shooting guard for the future.  What aren't you buying?  You know more about Nyama than he does?

The Seawolves definitely need someone to play small forward - they need to average 12 PPG out of this position.
