Definetely agree with sbufan ^

hopefully we can get him

more about him here: http://delcohssports.wordpress.com/2013/07/22/boys-basketball-from-glasgow-to-chester-tyrell-sturdivant-making-a-big-impact/

Couple things on this young man:  I have a friend who knows his Mother, and says that the family is very impressive, and focused first and foremost on the academic piece.  He is a very good student, which fits into that, and with Degnan popping for Fairfield over the weekend, that option for him is off the table.  LIU has multiple recent NCAA tournament visits, but I have to think you at least have a good chance with him.  I was told that they are very seriously interested in SB, for whatever that's worth.....Certainly, Florida Atlantic offers great weather, but the family would not be able to drive to his games.  You should have a much better idea after the visit, no?

We missed out on Degnan, but this kid seems like a good player too. But he also has an offer from U Delaware and that would be closest for his family. Also has offer from the scooby-doos. He has good blocking average albeit in high school where he is playing against shorter competition.

All sounds great. Do you know anything about his game or how he might fit in at Stony Brook?

Don't know anything other than what I have read/been told, which is he's a good prospect, intelligent kid, probably further along defensively, like most young bigs.  Seems that he is a fairly good shooter out to 15-17 feet, and is a shot-blocker rebounder.  I do know a bit about his AAU program, which is one of the better ones down here, with mostly D1 players.  He is able to transition from offense to defense fairly quickly, as they run a lot.  He's also finishing high school at Chester (PA) HS, and I know that program well.  They run, and run, and run some more, so he will definitely be doing a lot of running/pressing/trapping this high school season.....Delaware is closer for his family, and he was in high school down in Delaware up until this coming year.

Everyone certainly has wonderful things to say about this kid.  I'm sure hoping that the video that I saw from back last December was just an anomaly on an off night.  From all the other evidence he certainly seems to be a quality get for the Seawolves; and if he adds a little weight and works hard for the Coach, I'm now betting on him to come through big!!

Now, with a SF and PF on board, on to a PG.  Austin Tilghman looks like a bull.  But, my preference would still be Paul Jorgensen.  If SBU gets him as well, 2014 would be an unbelievable recruiting class!

Not much is known about Deshaun Thrower PG who received an offer from SB. Besides BB he also plays QB for HS football team.

This article has really piqued my interest in Thrower.

Also worth noting that Stony Brook assistant Lamar Chapman is also from Muskegon Mi.

"@BFlinnFuture150: Look for Stony Brook to target a guard with their last scholarship, it could possibly go to Sturdivant's AAU teammate Austin Tilghman"

Interesting tidbit from this tweet is that Austin Tilghman retweeted it.

My take from this is that 1) Tilghman is very interested coming to SBU but 2) SBU is waiting for Jorgensen's decision first.
