"Worst regular season loss in program history."

Yeah, I'd go along with that. At least from what I've seen going back pretty regularly for about 15 years. Can't recall a regular season game with something significant at stake and such a collapse.

I'd like to see some light/hope here. In fact, that's what my son and I were discussing on the ride home. With some young AE teams (UVM, UNH) making great strides upwards along with knowing UA will always be there, it's even hard to imagine any hope to break through for the Warney years with this supporting cast. And you don't get to build around a guy like Warney very often.

Simply because the bottom half of the AE is so weak it's likely SBU stumbles into a 4 seed. It's difficult to imagine anything beyond a first-round win this year.

Warney on the Bench and once again, SB goes flat. This is a huge problem going forward!

I took a well needed rest from the fan board after the SBU loss to Vermont. I needed that. I'm back in full force now. I was too angry to be here.

All i can say is. We need to stay positive even though we don't have many reasons to be. At the end of the day... our chances of making the NCAA are exactly the same as there were the past four years if you think about it. So lets hope the guys bounce back and play as hard as they can. MARCH Is around the corner.

Go Seawolves

not a very exciting game.  good to clear the bench though and get yet another home win.  but we are going to have to show up for the VT and UA games at some point.  GO SB

It's always nice to win conference games but Maine seems less and less like a DI team. They are easily the worst team in the conference...at least UMBC has the excuse that it rolls with 7 players. Overall, solid win but does not make me any more optimistic about making the tourney this year.

Who would have thought Stony Brook was headed to the #4 seed? Losing Warney after next year leaves me less than enthused about the future

I have been thinking about that since the start of the season. If Coach P doesn't find a PF Transfer to replace Warney, SB will be fighting for last place in the conference. Maine will be running rings around us. Coach P brought in Petrus to be Warney replacement and he calls him " work in progress" Have you seen Petrus play? He is not a division 1 player, maybe div2 at best!

the Warney types are hard to find at our level. He is a big time player could play in any power conference . Petrus is not the answer either so I hope the staff is out beating the bushes   now for a 4 or 5 star center  and hope they sign him.

4 or 5 star centers don't come to Stony Brook.  Same thing happened when Dougher, Brenton, Carter and Joyner graduated.  They figured it out then, they'll figure out after 15-16

Im well aware you will not see a 4 or 5 star kid in our uniform in most any sport that's reality . But you are right  they will   figure it out  hopefully .

just before half, we were down 11.  UA is hot for threes; SB is cold from everywhere.  hooley is playing a bit.  warney is blocking everything.

UA is crushing SB with offensive rebounds.  which wouldnt be a problem, except that we have warney and mcgrew.

then, UA going into a zone at times.  pikiell wisely plays king to get some outside threat and free up warney.  king puts up a quick 8 points, cold off the bench.  closed the half down 2, which is great because last time we lost by 30.

SB took a small lead with about 5min left.  UA went hot again from the perimeter.  chipped away and closed the gap.  SB played well in the waning minutes in a tight situation.  puriefoy especially.

game ball- scott king.  huge day for SB.
