2012/13: Game 26 - SBU vs UMBC - Optimum 118
« on: February 16, 2013, 05:45:34 pm »
Coming off a great victory vs Vermont. The Seawolves will matchup against UMBC with the chance to earn the twentieth victory of the season and an opportunity to end their three game homestand on a high note. Seawolves are unbeaten on conference home play since last year and I don't expect that to change. Lets go seawolves!

Here's a question for some of you who have a little more insight into the workings of the BB program than I do.  Over the course of the season there have always been the group of presumed red shirts sitting at the end of the bench in their red hoodies at every game (i.e. Burnett, Walker, and most recently, Kam Mitchell).  But, at the Vermont game I noticed that there were five "hoodied" guys sitting there.  Do any of you know whom the other two were, or why they were there?  If not, please keep your eyes peeled during the UMBC game to see if they appear again--I'm curious.

You likely saw a few of the ball boys. They wear the same warm-ups as the redshirts.

Thanks Hammertime! I got to talk to Cam Mitchell briefly back in January. Really good kid and  seemed  glad to be  Seawolf.

SB Can't afford to be winning in a sloppy performance these days. We are too late in the season for that. Now is the time to get the brooms out and clean up all the mistakes they've been making all year and play smarter basketball otherwise they will be watching March madness in their living rooms and not on the court !!!

I feel that with the Vermont win in the bag, being top of the table with a somewhat safe margin, and UMBC being an easier opponent at home, our team might loose their focus a bit... but not that much to lose the game. I want to see our backcourt play better than last game.

Quick question with AE seeding:

If two teams are tied in win-loss record in conference, what are the first and second tiebreakers? There is good chance Albany might go L-W-L in the remaining three games.. and Hartford might go W-W-L rest of the way. In that case they would be both tied with 9-7 record at 3rd and 4th seeds. Who will be at 3rd seed? Is it head to head record (Albany won both)? Over all record?

Hartford and UNH were both 7-9 last season 1-1 head to head. Why were Hartford 5th and UNH 6th seed last year?

The reason I am asking is that I really want to avoid playing Albany in Albany during the tournament and for that they need to finish at 3rd seed.

What a sick run to end the 1st. Half. 47-29 lead. After trailing for a while the motors turned on and everyone started shooting
