Well... Our team stands 3-5 heading to MSG to play against Rutgers.

I don't have much hopes of this upcoming game but you never know...

Game will be on MSG Network

Anyone can create threads, but lets try to keep a standard naming system! ;)

Besides the obvious implications of playing at the "World's Greatest Arena", the Rutgers game marks the beginning of the final stretch of the non-conference portion of the schedule.
Time for the team to start showing some improvement in terms of execution. Effort is there.
Just need to play better ( as simply put as that sounds ).
January 2 is coming quick and it is time to go.

Hopefully a good week of practice will lead to progress.

Look for Jackson to have a big game. Every time we play a high major or on tv, he seems to have to the game of his life. Look up the stats; it's uncanny.

This should be a very interesting game, as it's basically two teams with very, very different styles of play.  Rutgers wants to make it a 94 foot game, while you guys want to control the tempo and not take rushed shots (like you did in the 1st half against BC).  However, something tells me that RU pressing and trapping may actually lead to some easy shot opportunities (IF you handle the pressure well), and that can be a good thing.  Turnovers and rebounding (no need to mention that Hayes/Dougher/Jackson must shoot well) tell the story, on both sides.  I've seen at least 3 Rutgers games this year, and they are very young and can be quite undisciplined.  They take bad shots, make poor decisions, and at times look like a bad AAU team.  However, they have very talented, if young players, and in Biruta they have a very big/strong interior player (he is prone to get into foul trouble though).  They like to play a lot of 3 guard offense, which helps you in the matchups, and hopefully Brenton and Bracey are able to do some things.....speaking of Brenton, perhaps everyone is being a bit too hard on him.  The reality is that he basically sat for a year without playing, and to think that he will come right back and be what he was is just not realistic.  I think what you should hope is that by the middle of the conference season he starts to show some of his old skills, and that he is back to the same (or as close as possible) player he was before the injury by the start of next year's season.  IMO, keys to the game are how you handle the press (turnovers), defense, and shot selection.  I can't believe that Hayes will continue to miss open jump shots, and sooner or later, Bracey will begin to feel comfortable on offense.....

I'm having nightmares about this game.  I keep seeing 11 ponts  at the half in the Garden and we never get invited back.   But we will be there  including the reception at 10AM.

Watching the game while studying for chemistry, wishing i was there. 26-31 at the Half. A pair of Dougher three pointer got us right back into the game after not scoring for a while. Stony Brook seems to have a 5-10 minute offensive slump in every big game. I'm glad they got the slump behind them, at least i think. Ready for second half action. Go Brook!

The Seawolves shot 26% from the field. I suppose you can say the game was somehow better than against BC, but really....this sucks!

I think that we played better despite the bad shooting than in the BC game. WE were able to get to the Free Throw line and make most of them. That's progress. But, the lack of shooting in this team is serious issue.

As disappointing as the Seawolves have been so far, the AE conference has been abysmal this season...the worst I can remember. The conference's RPI is dead last, and three teams (UMBC, Bingo, Hartford) are a combined 1-27 despite having three of the easiest schedules in the nation.
