Very interesting match-up tomorrow.  Should be a better showing than Indiana, as the team appears to have a better understanding of what Pikiell expects.  Rebounding/turnovers are the key, as Northwestern is not particularly fast/athletic, but they are big.  If SB can compete on the boards, and not give away possessions with unforced turnovers, they can compete.  Northwestern runs the Princeton system, and want to get the ball to Shurna (best player, power forward), but their guard Crawford is also very good.  Not sure if you have anyone to guard Shurna (I'd say Brenton, but they will then just post him up), but you may also be able to beat them up the floor in transition.....overall, I see it 78-62 Northwestern.  (Indiana game was close for most of 1st half; would be good to extend competitive feel into 2nd half.  This team is not nearly as athletic as Indiana, but much more experienced)

I want to think that as a program we're past moral victories, but it is nice to see we took a big ten team down to the wire. I didn't catch the game, but seems like the team is coming together.

I agree sbufan. It's not very satisfying when you have to be happy as a fan when your team loses, but that's where the program still is. But there's football tomorrow!

totally missed the game. But it seems like we played great. Northwestern is a good team. It was a close loss.

Final was awful close NU 63- SBU 58 . If only we shot a little better.

Caught the game on the internet, and SB played very well.  Outrebounded a Big Ten team (17 offensive rebounds), and only 9 turnovers.  Had a chance to win late, which is all you can ask for.  Joyner/Rapier played very well, need to get Bracey untracked, as he only played about 7 minutes.....SB needs more scoring from Bracey/Brenton/another guard, whether it be Rouse, Coley or Jackson.  Next Saturday is a winnable game vs. Eastern Illinois (they play another AE team first, Maine?), and the upcoming BC game is also winnable......

Yup, good points. More of the typical SB game...good d, tough on the boards, kind of ugly on the off end...but good enough to beat most AE teams on most nights.
