2011/12: Game 10 Stony Brook vs Cornell
« on: December 19, 2011, 11:25:49 am »
We continue our OOC season and we are down to the final stretch against Cornell and Rider. I would like for us to finish strong coming into league play. These two games should be in preparation for our upcoming Vermont. We showed progress against Rutgers, I'm looking to see more progress against Cornell.

Go Seawolves!

Absolutely. These two games need to be wins. At the very least, they need to be played crisply on both ends of the floor. SBU can handle both of these teams and the guys need something to feel positive about heading
into UVM.

Happy Holidays to all!

Agreed.  To be honest, I'm less concerned with the outcome of the game.

I'd like to see some better minutes from Bracey, and if they can show some team development, I'll be much happier going into conference play.

Cornell is a pretty good team, Ivy League or not.  They played Illinois really tough, and perhaps should have beaten Penn State (another Big 10 team) in their last game.  They want to shoot the three point shot, and push tempo with hard-nosed defense, so it should be a really good test.  Stony Brook must shoot the ball better, and continue to pound the offensive glass in order to have a shot to win.  Does Brenton continue to look more comfortable?  Is this the game Bracey starts to round into form?  Does Hayes start to look like the player he was last year?  Does Joyner rebound from the Rutgers game.  All questions that need positive answers....

Cornell has always  been tough for us.   I  agree this is  must win since Vermont is going to be a challenge us next Monday.   Just a side note Wagner a team we used to beat easily knocked off  Pitt last  Friday 59-54 at Pitt.

This is a game I absolutely want to see. I am looking forward to finding out if the team has turned the corner and is ready for conference play.
These last two games are extremely important in terms of how they play ( not just win ).
5 days to UVM. Time to step it up!

Seawolves lead 8-5 early. Dougher with a 3-pointer.

48-38. Rebounds have helped the team keep the lead.
