Thank you for the fantastic summary done by one of your fans. I hope it is okay for me to share bits and pieces on my home IU board. Again like I said, people seem to be really cautious about this matchup and I believe Coach Crean has said some really nice things about your program.
As for bars to attend before heading over to the game, I have 2 recommendations:
1. Nick's English Hut. It is the quintessential college bar (in what is IMO a quintessential big university college town). A staple on IU's campus. It is just steps from the "Sample Gates" which is sort of the unofficial postcard/gateway into the heart of IU's campus. On Kirkwood Avenue, home to several bars, this place has character. The food: strombolis, pizzas, grinders, etc. is pretty darn good too. Try out a game of "Sink the Bizmarck" if you're up to hang with the college crew. Don't just stay downstairs if they seat you up front, check out the whole place.

You may be able to find a parking place in the Kirkwood area or in the neighborhood near Yogis and just walk over to the game. It will probably be chilly, but I'm sure that isn't going to slow a Stony Brook fan down (you could actually walk from Nick's as well but it is probably nearly doubling the walk from Yogis which is probably just 10-12 minutes). Huge menu and plenty of local beers on tap. Lots of TVs and cute waitresses.

Enjoy the game. Assembly Hall is quirky. But if you have even a decent seat (even first few rows of the balcony), it doesn't get much better. As the formerly of CBS and now Big Ten Network/FX announcer Gus Johnson calls it - "the Carnegie Hall of college basketball."
