WBB: Wingate to transfer
« on: April 10, 2017, 10:42:56 am »
This is a tough blow for the women's team. Wingate brought a lot of energy and the baton was presumably going to be handed to her. Now the top four scorers – and five of the top six – gone from a team that went 12-18.

Here's to the kids being ready to run with it this fall.

this is the 2nd time in two years a high potential left. Last year I forget her name but she transferred out to Kentucky leaving a scoring gap.

Thats right. The girls Basketball team lost two top players in two years.. This tells me Mccombs has to go..I blame head coaches when teams lose top players year after year...

Noticed that Lauren Williams is no longer on the WBB roster.  Any news on that?

As a counter to that, it appears that Coach McCombs has brought in a very strong class for '17-'18.  When you consider the two redshirts from last season, WBB has a ton of young talent.  I suspect that we're going to see a very much different offense this year--much quicker, better shooting and superb offensive rebounding!  The trick will be to hang onto this talent and not bleed any more transfers.  If the team wins, I think that can be accomplished.
