It was a great game. Stony Brook came back and tied it up at 7. Very competitive.  Unfortunately, Albany scored a goal and then killed the clock. I dislike the non-contact aspect of women lacrosse. You can kill all the time you want and cannot get checked for it.

It was a pain to watch in TV. the game is so slow that when I headed to LaValle stadium and watched the first few minutes of the men's game it feel like the men were flying.

but this team is going to be great next season. They are going to be hungry. Petersen and Cook in their senior season

Agree with the forecast for next season. Not only are all the top guns returning, but Spallina should be able to attract some top frosh recruits because of the team's success this season. I look for a Top Ten team next year. And Top 20 (maybe Top 15) for the men.

Albany forced SB to play their style today. The Danes totally controlled the pace of the game, I think they knew they'd be in for a long day if the got into a run and gun shootout with SB. And they worked the stall perfectly at the end. This is one aspect of the women's game that I prefer over the men's game, it puts more pressure on the defense and the offense has to be more selective and patient (like Albany twice faking in front of the empty net in the final stall after SB pulled their goalie, opting to take more time off the clock rather than score and give SB a shot at a couple of quick draws and shoots like at the end of the first half).

What a great add. FLorida has been a great program since the day they started.

Maybe I'm a little overzealous, but does anyone else think this team might be legitimate national title contenders? I'll be disappointed if they make it the tournament and then win some games once they get there.

No one can stand on the way of Northwestern. So maybe Natl C is a longshot right now.... Lol. But definitely will be a great team and hopefully they pull a run in the NCAAs.

Northwestern has seven NCs since 2005 with 2010 being their only off year. Insane!
