"(Carolyn Everson is a member of the board of directors for the Walt Disney Company, ESPN's parent company.)"

At least the article acknowledges the paid bias!

No worries. Soon enough there will be men playing women Lacrosse. So the physicality of the game will be much more intense. They should where chest and head protectors just like the men do.

That parent is on the board of directors for the Disney Company, so it's just some big-shot trying to raise a storm with her profile
True. But for someone of her “status” to take to Twitter to call for the boycott of an entire lacrosse program is pathetic. It’s unfortunate what happened to her daughter but I watched the replay several times and saw nothing especially egregious on the part of our defender.

2023 ILWomen Tewaaraton Watchlist: Early Season
https://www.insidelacrosse.com/slideshow/2023-ilwomen-tewaaraton-watchlist-early-season/207?slide=5

Quote
Contender: 5. Ellie Masera, Stony Brook

Masera has played more of a role as an attacker in 2023 than in years past, leading the Seawolves with 21 goals and four assists. The dynamic junior also leads in draw controls (32) as a key circle player.

NW knocked off #1 UNC today by 4. Things are gonna get interesting at the top. Our game vs. Syracuse on Wed is huge.

Wednesday’s game against #1 Syracuse is on ESPNU. I see a 5 goal Orange win but would be happy if proven wrong.

It was a back and forth battle for 2 quarters trading leads but Cuse possessed the ball way more than us. They just executed better from start to finish. Another year and we remain in that next tier of teams. Rutgers has fallen off the map since being a preseason top ten team. So, we won’t have a “top ten” win on the resume come  tourney time and seeding. It’s unfortunate.

Taylor's 10: The Positional Player of the Year Discussion

Contenders: Belle Smith (Boston College) and Ellie Masera (Stony Brook)

Argument for Masera: Masera is the spark plug for the Seawolves offense and has been a force on the offensive end. With 34 points in seven games, she is making her presence known with her killer speed, shifty footwork and a hard and accurate shot from distance. The area of her game where she is most impactful though is the draw circle. She’s secured 37 draws and helps Stony Brook keep momentum with a make-it-take-it feel.

Women's Tewaaraton Stock Watch: New Names Enter 'Next Five' Conversation

Quote
2. Ellie Masera, M, Stony Brook

The USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Midfielder of the Year, Masera has certainly played the part. She was all over the stat sheet in a win against Delaware last weekend, recording seven goals, one assist, two ground balls, one caused turnover and one draw control. She was less impactful on the offensive end against Syracuse on Wednesday, but she posted four draw controls and four ground balls. These dynamic performances are just two snapshots of a masterful season featuring 28 goals, 37 draw controls and 14 ground balls. A powerful player on both ends of the field, Masera will prove key as the Seawolves look to rebound following their loss to the Orange.
