1. No. 1 Stony Brook won its 10th straight game and remained one of two unbeaten teams with a 19-4 defeat of Cornell in one of just three games on the NCAA Division I women's schedule yesterday.

Ally Kennedy and Courtney Murphy scored five goals each to lead the Seawolves, and the former dished out two assists to set a career high with seven points. Murphy now stands three goals away from eclipsing Gail Cummings-Danson as the NCAA's all-time leader with 289 goals. Stony Brook won 12 draws in the first half to take a 14-3 lead. The Seawolves head to Hartford Thursday.

1. Stony Brook's Courtney Murphy broke a 30-year old record, becoming the NCAA's Division I all-time leading goal scorer. Murphy had five goals in Stony Brook's 21-3 win over Hartford giving her 292 for her career, breaking the mark of National Lacrosse Hall of Fame member Gail Cummings. Cummings scored 289 in her career at Temple from 1985-88.

That might not be the only NCAA record to fall to a Stony Brook player this season. Kylie Ohlmiller is closing in on the NCAA career points and assists records. Ohlmiller has 416 points in her career, 29 away from Jen Adams (Maryland, 1998-2001) career mark of 445. Ohlmiller also has 207 career assists, 17 away from Hannah Nielsen's (Northwestern, 2006-09) NCAA mark of 224.

It's finally here… tomorrow night 500 lucky fans will walk away from our women's lacrosse game against Johns Hopkins with a Kylie Ohlmiller bobblehead.

We are anticipating our largest crowd ever for a women's lacrosse game at Stony Brook, so get your tickets now and be sure to come early. Even if you don't get one of the Kylie bobbleheads, it promises to be a special night at LaValle Stadium. Courtney Murphy will play at home for the first time since breaking the NCAA career record for goals and should add to her remarkable total of 296.

That's right, because of the weak AE conference their RPI is only #8. They need to win out to guarantee home field advantage.

really shouldve won that title last year.  between crooked refs (20-3 flags?) and the north carolina bathroom bill.  and the NCAA committee seedings.

One remaining test before the postseason is Penn State.
FWIW, the vast majority of DI schools have never won a national championship in any of 30+ sports. Women’s lacrosse isn’t football or basketball but it would certainly add to SB’s image.

True  any National Championship would be a huge plus for SBU .
