No. 2 — Stony Brook Seawolves (2-0)
The women from Long Island opened the season in California, knocking off USC and Stanford in a pair of easy victories. Against the Trojans, Courtney Murphy notched eight points, while Kylie Ohlmiller recorded seven points against the Cardinal. But the Seawolves leading scorer? Taryn Ohlmiller, who has eight goals and four assists. Good luck stopping that offense.

Eighteen of Stony Brook’s 29 goals this season have been assisted, a testament to the team’s passing ability.

WOMEN'S NOTEBOOK: STONY BROOK EXCITED FOR POTENTIAL DESPITE DAUNTING SCHEDULE

“Give me a team full of Kylies,” Spallina said. “When you have your best player setting the example it’s hard to fail. I love watching how excited she gets when she sees other teammates score.”

Looking forward, the Seawolves are positioned well to be a serious contender for a national title. Their difficult schedule continues on Sunday when Denver visits before a Big Ten weekend at No. 15 Northwestern and Michigan. The non-conference schedule also features teams like No. 9 Towson, No. 17 Cornell, Johns Hopkins and No. 18 Penn State.

Three ranked opponents up, three convincingly down. They’re taking no prisoners.
First time ever a SB team ranked #1!

On the heels of North Carolina's OT thriller over Maryland, there's a new No. 1 in town as Stony Brook sits atop the national rank for the first time in program history. The Seawolves are followed by No. 2 Boston College, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 4 Maryland and No. 5 James Madison to round out a new-look top five.

Great article .  If this  winning way  continues we really don't belong  in the AE .  I don't know if it is possible to jump to a Power Conference in just 1 sport.
