I turned off the screen the second the final goal went in, so I didn't see all the postgame BS. When did we lose Ohlmiller??

And yep, final rounds at our home field and we're not even in it. I'm seriously pissed off. Though I don't think the game being here would have made a difference at that point.

Losing Taryn Ohlmiller (key playmaker, top-10 scorer in the US with over 100-points) for the entire game proved impossible to overcome.

(She went down with a torn ACL v UPenn and did not play at  all v BC.  I don't think the announcers had any idea the effect her absence had on our offense...they didn't seem seem to notice she was missing...doubtlessly BC did.)

"The offense left opportunities on the field, though, and fluidity was hard to come by.
Sophomore Taryn Ohlmiller couldn’t play after tearing her ACL in the previous game against Penn."

Ah, Gotcha. Taryn went out, but we still had Kylie, so that's what confused me. We definitely win with Taryn in the game.

Spallina and co are a great staff and we've got enough coming back that we should be right back in the tourney again next year. This year had a title run on a silver platter though and I wouldn't count on that again.

The AE makes geographic sense and budget wise for the university. I'm not holding my breath for a conference move. With continued aggressive OOC games, the seeding will be better. They key will be adding some ACC teams to their schedule IMHO- beating Northwestern/Stanford/USC etc. didn't carry the weight that it needed.

We should always schedule strong OOC schedules in all sports, but the difference in travel in the AE compared to the CAA or A10 is negligible in the grand scheme of things. We're already outspending several Mountain West programs as is, so I doubt money is the issue. Chicago State is on the brink of collapse, but they still fly their teams all over the country in the WAC to compete. We need to be doing everything we can to get the hell out of this conference. I thought we could improve it and spur our conference mates to invest more into athletics, but that was clearly wishful thinking on my part. Hofstra has blocked us in the past, but if we continue taking care of business in all of our sports, we can at least land ourselves in the CAA if not an FBS conference.
