RPI doesn't take into account margin of victory. If it did, they would be top three for sure.

We should get the Top seed and draw at least a bye  in the first round of the NCAAs

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING
Kylie Ohlmiller, the NCAA’s leader in career points, has made herself a role model to lacrosse players across the country. Stony Brook set up a nice surprise for Ohlmiller, who got to read messages from some of her fans — and meet them.

Kylie Ohlmiller is not only one of the best attackers in #NCAAWLAX history, but is also a role model in the Stony Brook community.

Watch what happens when she meets her biggest fans!#NCAAWLAX

Recognized as Coach of the Year for a record fifth time and fourth consecutively.
Stony Brook became the first #AEWLAX program to earn the number 1 ranking in national polls and finished the regular season in the top spot.
Also became the first team in conference history to go undefeated for an entire regular season, finishing at 17-0.
Spallina’s defense is the stingiest in the nation while his offense ranks second in the country in scoring.
The Seawolves clinched their sixth-straight regular season title.

With the national status the team has achieved these AE honors seem almost meaningless.

As for the NCAA Tournament, the bracket will be revealed on Sunday at 9 p.m. on NCAA.com. Although we have been ranked No. 1 in all three major polls for 10 straight weeks, our RPI is only 6 because of our conference. My response to that: We are the best team in the nation and absolutely deserve to be the No. 1 seed.

- 8-0 vs. ranked opponents in 2018, outscoring those teams 128-64
- No. 1 non-conference adjusted RPI (.72491) in the nation
- Ranks No. 1 nationally in six Division I major team statistics: points per game (29.59), scoring margin (+11.35), assists per game (11.59), shot percentage (.532), turnovers per game (11.71), and team defense (6.65 goals-allowed per contest)
- NCAA Division I career leaders in total points (Kylie Ohlmiller - 469), total goals (Courtney Murphy - 234), and total assists (Kylie Ohlmiller - 235)

I rest my case.

BRACKETOLOGY: 'BAD LOSSES' VS. 'GOOD WINS' ON THE BUBBLE
https://www.uslaxmagazine.com/college/women/bracketology-bad-losses-vs-good-wins-on-the-bubble

Quote
Then, what do you do with Stony Brook? The consensus No. 1 team in the human polls, Stony Brook’s numbers are good, but strength of schedule has taken a hit since entering America East play. The Seawolves remain undefeated, but in main selection criteria used for seeding, they likely will fall short of the Tar Heels who have a superior RPI, strength of schedule and more quality wins.

RPI
North Carolina   1
Maryland   2
Boston College  3
James Madison   4
Florida   5
Stony Brook   6
