After Stony Brook coach Joe Spallina had a phenomenal year on all fronts, most recently winning the MLL championship with the New York Lizards, his focus has shifted entirely to the Seawolves, hoping to improve the program by leaps and bounds from what they accomplished in 2015 – a program-best 18 wins and the No. 6 seed in the NCAA tournament. A lot of the team's success had to do with freshman Kylie Ohlmiller's performance as she finished with a team-high 86 points. She is a well-rounded attacker who might just be the dark horse for this highest honor.
Stony Brook coach Joe Spallina on Ohlmiller: "Kylie is a world-class talent with unparalleled stick skills that stormed onto the national front last year. A great quality she has is that the bigger the game, the bigger her performance!"
