Saw him back in high school but he's obviously gotten stronger and has expanded his game.  Can play/guard multiple positions, and can elevate from weakside to block shots.  You really don't have a player like him at his size/length, should be very good in AE.

Rumor on Twitter has JUCO wing Junior Saintel of Chipola College (Fla.) choosing Stony Brook.  He played at one of the better high school programs in South Jersey (Holy Spirit) and would be a really good addition.  He's a long (6'7") wing, but is also a really good shot-blocker, is athletic and can finish....no confirmation yet, but if true it would be a coup for new coach.

Very interesting game last night; my thoughts:

-  very important was ability of the team to hold the fort for last 6 minutes or so of 1st half with Warney/Puriefoy on bench
-  ability to bring Woodhouse/Nyama/Sturdivant/Mitchell/Thrower off bench gives SB deepest team in league
-  this team seems to be more like prior SB teams, able to change tempo of the game on defensive end
-  to that end, Puriefoy (and Walker) did a great job on Lo; also did very good job on Lynn at NJIT
-  I expect to see a lot of Nyama at the 4 during league play when teams go small with one big and 4 perimeter players

Solid non-conference performance, should have no more than 2 losses in next 16, with no major injuries, should be #1 seed heading into post-season tournament.

Very interesting match-up in this one.  Warney goes against an NBA 1st round draft pick who is very long/athletic, but is prone to foul trouble.  Likes to block shots so shot fakes will be necessary.  Vandy starts another 7-footer at the 4, but he is doubtful, which is good news for McGrew in his first game back....you must get easy baskets and weather the early storm.  They shoot a ton of 3's with 4 guards who can really shoot it.  IF they are not shooting well and Warney & Puriefoy stay out of foul trouble you may have a shot...Vandy is very good and well coached, hoping for a good competitive game.

Looks like a competitive schedule out of conference with a nice balance of strong mids plus the 2 BCS games.  I have to assume the 2nd D3 was to give 5 home games, but 9-4 should be the goal moving into conference play.  The non-BCS D1 teams not expected to challenge for their conference titles are Loyola (MD), American, Northeastern & WKU, and all those are on the road, so you should be tested when conference rolls around.

Not sure why everyone focuses on the D3 game, it's your opener, perfect first opponent.  It's doesn't count against your RPI, relax....couple more dates are known on the schedule:

-  WKU is November 21st
-  Lehigh is December 22nd
-  Notre Dame is December 8th
-  American is December 17th
-  Columbia date has not been released.  First game of season for most teams is November 13th so that is probably your first game.  Still another strong mid-major and possibly one more high major I'd imagine.

Vandy will be very good this year, top 3-4 in SEC, and should be ranked in top 25....Hofstra picked to win CAA, NJIT should win or at least contend in Atlantic Sun, Columbia is top 3 in Ivy with 2 first team players, Princeton returns everyone of note and will be challenging Harvard along with Columbia, WKU is always tough at home, you should beat both American and Loyola on road.  Judging by your past schedules, you should still have a D3 at home, and 1 if not 2 more hi-majors, and at least one more tough mid.....very good non-conference schedule, which you should have considering what returns.

I agree, very interested in seeing the non-conference schedule.  This team should be very experienced and therefore competitive with most teams.  Also like to see them use their depth to push pace at both ends of the floor.  I expect surprising (to some) improvement with Petras with a year in system/training/skill work giving them ability to play big at times vs large opponents.  Also a lot of 4 out 1 in surrounding Warney with shooters/slashers.  Your best team on paper for sure.

I would think both Yeboah and Campbell redshirt next year, allowing you to have 11 players who should see time based on situation, with you being 2 deep at every position.  Having a European trip and the 10 practices allowed plus the games is perfect for you so that Woodhouse and Walker get some game action in.
