Yeah I think Maysonet and Coker will split carries the same way Maysonet and Jackolski did this past season. I hope they find a role on offense for Cruz because the kid has talent, his numbers given his limited carries last season are pretty remarkable. Having too much talent is a good problem to have though.

We don't have an FCS roster: Gush had FBS offers but only came to Stony Brook because his dad had got the defensive coordinating job here. Norrell was a starter in the PAC 10 as a true frosh at Washington State. Coxson could have gone to any school in the country out of high school (initially signed with Florida but decided in August before camp to stay closer to home and go to Maryland). Maysonet had Big East offers but wanted to stay close to home. Coker is an all Big Ten RB.

We are going to have the best offensive skill players in FCS football.

Coker is an immediate FCS player of the year candidate. He's fourth on the all time list at Iowa for yards in season and was a Second Team all Big Ten selection last year as a true sophomore. He'll eventually get drafted.

Coxson is the highest rated out of high school transfer we've ever had. ESPN had him as the 101 best prospect in the country coming out of high school. That's CRAZY.

Newsday is reporting to two big time transfers are currently enrolled at the brook, Marcus Coker and Adrian Coxson. Coker was second in the Big Ten in rushing last season with 15 td's. Adrian Coxson is a former 4 star ESPNU 150 recruit.

Another 2 star DB from florida, Deshawn Lindsay, also committed to the Brook. He picked us over a couple MAC schools: Bowling Green, Central Michigan.

Agreed that Hayes has some serious confidence issues shooting. He played some solid D tonight which is why he started getting minutes last season. Hopefully he can continue to do his thing on the defensive end and gradually get his confidence back.

Our bigs got outplayed up in Boston. That cant, and I don't think will, happen again. Hopefully the students show up and get loud. Should be a good game.

Liblitz.com is reporting PK,P Lucas Santangelo of New Hyde Park is committed to Stony Brook along with Mike White from East Islip.

I found this on Santangelo. I know nothing about kicking but the stats look good to me. http://www.nationalcampseries.com/profile.asp?id=2116&eventid=1

So lame about Crossan...I really though we had a good shot at him...

Yeah, I heard he was leaning towards stony brook a couple a months ago. Bummer

I wonder if recruits, especially RB recruits, don't realize how good Priore's system is. He has had two 1,000 yard backs in three of the last four seasons with 4 different running backs reaching that mark. This year, with an offensive line starting two freshman and two sophomores, Miguel and Brock combined to rush for over 3,000 yards. As long as you don't mind sharing carries, and you should only be encouraged by the two rb system because it makes it easier for a player to get on the field and both rb's historically have gotten their share of touches, Stony Brook should be an ideal destination for rb recruits looking at FCS schools. But I'm a homer so what do I know.

Warney's ESPN score was raised to 91 or 90 depending on where you look on the ESPN site and he's now the 24th ranked PF prospect in the country.

Stony Brook wants to play two FBS games a year. I assume this is to help recruiting, build the "brand", and bring in money. But they want to balance out the schedule so they're going to pay two teams to come to lavalle. This year it's CCSU and Pace. NEC teams our cheap to pay for money games because they're not FBS counters (don't offer enough scholarships to count towards bowl eligibility), and similarly D2's are even cheaper because they don't count towards FCS playoff eligibility. The football program doesn't generate enough revenue to afford to bring in two D1's at the moment, so we'll most likely have a D2 on the schedule for the foreseeable future.
