Stony Brook Enjoys a Record Application Year
Nearly 6,200 admitted students and families visited the Stony Brook University campus on March 23 and April 6 for Admitted Seawolf Days.

The April 6 Admitted Seawolf Day saw a record number of over 4,000 admitted students in attendance, and while heavy rain kept some prospective Seawolves away on the March 23 date, over 2,150 students donned rain gear to see all that Stony Brook has to offer.

Stony Brook received a record number of first-year applications this year – 55,812 – representing a 12% increase from 2023. As of April 5, Stony Brook has received the highest number of applications in the SUNY system for first-year students.

congrats ecasado on another huge UConn victory.  there's a team that knows how to pass the ball.  also good execution with two bigs in foul trouble for most of the second half.

we played really, really well, near-mistake-free lacrosse.  win 13-8 against drexel and move up to fifth place (note 3 plays 4 next week).

our defense doesnt really do well off-ball (slide rotate recover), that's not new, but we have veterans out there.  nevertheless, we've held drexel to a relatively low goal total (and even last game against towson), so directionally, that's great news.

so how'd we win?  wilk.  and drexel just didnt take care of the ball today.  and we capitalized.  we picked off at least 3-4 passes today- that's unusual.

our team was in a funk.  so shuffling in different players today was exactly what we needed- a shot in the arm- good on the coaching staff.  barker, birney, carlo, danowski, kraemer in particular.

wilk, pallo, esposito, dupuis were all great today.  lowd but he always is.  dougherty more of the same in the second.  esposito won many draws and created a lot of breaks.  we hit at least 3 posts; they dont count but it shows we are getting good shots off.

keep in mind- we have real injuries- filardi, desano, behlen- that's three starters.  hopefully peaking in the next month, at the right time. GO SB

playing a lot of different faces early and its working.  SB up at halftime 6-4 hosting drexel, in a critical game.

big half for wilk and lowd.  faceoffs competitive too.

also good plays for dupuis, dougherty, and a newcomer to the scene- danowski.
