Seven matchups. Three go to Stony Brook. Three go to Liberty. One push. Tough game to pick, for sure.

Also just saw this from Lang as well, WOW:

Another wow stat: Stony Brook hasn't attempted a field goal in its last five games and hasn't made a field goal since September.

Funny how one game skews stats. Stony Brook was +6 in turnovers vs. G-Webb, +7 in its other nine games.

Liberty was -5 in turnovers against N.C. State but is +4 in its other nine games.

So again stop putting so much weight on the last few games either way.  This will be a great one.

I guess where I'm coming from is I have seen both teams quite a bit, and if anyone wins by 2 scores it will be LU.  We have a very explosive offense, aggressive defense, and the #1 kick returner in the nation.

Emory who?

And if you want to join us LU fans as we rush the field, go for it.

You are welcome and JC is right.  And please tell me if you win it will be more than hundreds rushing the field.   How many do you expect to be there.  I'm coming!

We do not play Richmond until 2013 and 2014.  The Mystery team is going to be awesome I hear.

Anyway I guess we are making picks now.  I hadn't given the score a lot of thought till now.  I am not sure why everyone feels that the RBs that a lesser LU defense held down pretty well last year are going to go nuts.  Don't forget that LU's run D may be the best you have faced all year based on the stats.  I think they will get some good yards but they will not go as nuts as they have for the last few weeks.  I think this game comes down to us being tight enough in the passing game that you guys have to ruly on the run which we will slow down significantly.  Then it comes down to Mike Brown and company with our Passing offense and Mike Brown and company with our run game.

I think some folks who thought LU would beat SBU a few weeks ago are now reading too much into the last few weeks for both LU and SBU and some are flip flopping.  Liberty was very banged up in those 2 games and played down to their opponets and WON.  SBU was mostly healthy and took care of business handily.  Let's not forget that LU was an all american kicker shy of beating JMU and likely Lehigh.  I believe we have the better all around team as I did at the start of the season.

We are where we thought we would be with both undefeated in conference, and I can't wait for this game!

I say we end up with: Liberty - 42 SBU 28

Relax, the poll desn't come out till this afternoon.  They update the records over the weekend so it looks new but it's not.   My guess is we will be 15, 16 and you guys will be around 20-23.

Go to this link for a very fair preview article from the LU FCS beat  writer here in Lynchburg.  http://www2.newsadvance.com/sports/2011/nov/14/liberty-stony-brook-delving-numbers-ar-1458363/?referer=None&shorturl=http://bit.ly/s6rLVj

Just six days remain until kickoff on Long Island for the Big South championship game between Liberty and Stony Brook. As far as I can tell, this marks the first time that two Big South teams have been undefeated heading into the final game of the season. And one thing is for certain this time: There’s no consolation prize involved. No one gets a share of the title this year without winning this game, and that’s great for the conference.

What’s on the line? Obviously, a spot in the FCS playoffs. The winner gets in, the loser goes home. To reiterate, neither team will get to seven Division I wins without winning this game, so neither will be in play for an at-large berth. I know, I know. It’s a suggestion, not a requirement. Well, I’m suggesting that no FCS team has ever received an at-large bid without getting to seven DI wins, and that won’t change this year.

Our Men's soccer guys knocked off #9 CCU on Friday and then GW today to win the Big South!  What's the forecast up there for Saturday?  Do I need my long Johns?

I can't stop thinking about this game.  I can't wait to see the Flames back on the field up in LI.  I think this team will be rested and ready to roll.  Let's move this week.  This will be an epic battle.

2 undefeated teams undefeated in conference who have split the past 2 years both playing for their first ever spot in the playoffs.  How could it get better than this?

Yea Manson, I think you are right.  It's hard because I've been around for so long, but this feels huge.  I don't think there are superlatives that are too big for either team to describe this game.  Hey SBU fans, where does this game rank for you in SBU Football history?  Just curious.
