Uh!!  Oh!!  Looks like Marist is about to cancel its game with the Seawolves on 11/25 due to COVID.  Probably will cancel the Albany game, as well.  Hope this is just an outlier, rather than an indication of what's to come this season.

I wonder if SH can find a replacement for the Seawolves OOC opener on 11/25--maybe even at home!

Caroline found some high level players this year. The girls should be very good going forward.  I see her as a major flight risk soon.

Just as a reminder, McCombs did get a 5-year extension.  Sure hope she honors it.  She's a gem!!

can anyone update on what's going on with the bball season?  we are but 3 weeks away... thanks.

As I understand it, the season is scheduled to begin on Nov. 25 without fans in the arena.  Details for a schedule are being worked out, but reportedly will include several out-of-conference games, as well as full conference schedule.  There's still talk in the air for SBU to participate in a small tournament at MSG, as well as a local group of games with nearby programs.  For example, the opening game of the season may be with Fairfield at Island Federal Arena (Would have been great to see in person, as it represents a homecoming for Jay Young--which would have been SUPER).

Details are still in the works, but a current article in Newsday provides some additional hints:

Per, Ali Lee Jr. out of Woodbridge NJ has committed to SBU.  Described as "Athlete", he's primary played RB and DB.  Looks like an exciting player.

Unfortunately, I read he's back on the Practice Squad.

Hey guys!!  Be sure to tune into FOX at 1:00 PM for the Seattle Seahawks game.  Looks like DB Gavin Heslop will be on the big stage!

Caroline McCombs just keeps raking in the talent for the women's BB team.  What a great recruiter she is!!  She deserves the 5-year contract extension she recently got--IN SPADES!

Here's the most recent and last recruit she got for this season (a senior transfer from Western Michigan).

In addition, she now also has two commits for 2021:
-- F Liza Field (Couldn't find her info, but I think she's a good one)
-- PG Erin Turral

No way do I see SBU football chartering a flight to take the entire team and staff to play FAU!!  Think about it--that means chartering a flight to take the entire team and staff to the epicenter of coronavirus madness in SOUTH FLORIDA of all places!!  If the whole controversy is over safety and health, that can't possibly make any sense.

One excellent recruit (3*) who hasn't appeared on the team roster is Raekwon Smith. He was reported as a commit to SBU previously.  Any idea what happened to him?

Since the correct thread is locked:

Also got a '21 commitment from Anthony Williams, a DE/OLB out of New Jersey. He had offers from Kent State, Wagner, Howard, Sacred Heart, Georgetown and LIU.
