The ladies have simply been outstanding this year, so far.  The last three games they've done without Kaela Hillaire, who by any fair assessment is one of the top PGs in the East.  The Seawolves' AD made a brilliant hire (his first) with Coach McCombs!

Per Verbal Commits:

2020 Miami Dade College (FL) G Marques Watson has received an offer from Stony Brook.

Here is his stat page from his juco.  Not hugely overwhelming numbers.

I noticed this as well.  But, then I came across this from the latest couple of games for which I suspect the Seawolves's staff was in attendance:

Congrats to 6’5 Combo Guard
@QuesBucs (aka Marques Watson)
 who totaled 41 pts, (7 - 3s), 5 Rebs, 3 Assts, 4 steals in 2 games 🆚
 ranked teams:
🆚 #13
 25 pts, (4 - 3s), 2 Rebs, 1 assts, 2 steals
🆚 #8
 16 pts, (3 - 3s), 3 Rebs, 2 assts, 2 steals!!

I can't help being super impressed and proud of the Seawolves' gutsy display of resilience and relentlessness over these last two games.  They never give up, and they should be applauded for it!!

That said, the goal is winning, and I'm convinced they were only two or three turnovers away from doing so in both the Hofstra and Providence games.  Inability to deal with the press and the tendancy to get sped up by the other team are clearly the main reasons for the huge number of turnovers recently and must be controlled.  I hope Coach and his staff drill, drill and drill some more over the coming weeks to correct those shortcomings.  If they are successful at doing that, I believe the sky's the limit for this team.  Ya gotta love 'em!!

Looks like we got one and lost one:

WR Deion Davis entered the transfer portal and we got a commitment from DB Nick Chimienti (looks like a solid get to me).

SBU just got a really good pickup when Jahmir Greene DT from Don Bosco committed

I cant find any Rivals on Greene. Do you know if he got any other offers, FCS or FBS??

From what I've seen, Greene has gotten the following offers in addition to SBU:

Sacred Heart, Merrimack, Delaware St., Morehead St., Albany, Robert Morris, Maine, Army, Wagner, Air Force and UNH

Just noticed that our old friend Jules Moor has once again entered the transfer portal.  I guess for some reason his transfer from SBU to Texas State didn't pan out.  Unfortunate: I still believe he had some tools.

Another 2 star player leaving SB. Alex Indelcato RB from the state of Washington. Still has 4 years of eligibility left.

Oh, boy!!!!!

What a shame!!  I remember him coming off the bench late in the Bryant game, and he ran over everybody!!  I kept looking for him to play some more later in the season (didn't know about the ACL).  A missed opportunity for SBU!

Isaiah White has an Angle injury and even though Ty’Son Lawton looked really good he also is bothered by an Ankle injury. SBU is hoping to have Kamara back. Kyle Nunez also got banged up last night. A player that they have really missed is Finneran who broke his Wrist before the season began and has not played at all this season.

If White has an ankle injury, does it make sense to have him in on special teams, trying to track down kick returners? ??? ???

O.K.  I think you guys have sufficiently (And correctly) covered the importance of this loss, and I agree that the play-calling was atrocious!!  I'm still steaming over the series in UNH territory where the Seawolves started with two running plays to the short side of the field (in effect giving UNH the sideline as another defender) and then ran up the middle on third down--YIKES!!  I'd like to see Fields use his running talents more often: perhaps a few QB draws or some deception with a boot-leg once in awhile.  That said, I think Tyquell has earned his stripes as a reliable accurate passer, and we should be willing to take more advantage of that--not running into the line when the box is stacked!!

On another topic:  what the hell is going on with Isaiah White?  He seems to be healthy.  He's been in on special teams for just about every kickoff by the opponent for the past two games. and has been running up and down the sidelines with some obvious agility.  Yet, after that initial play fumble against JMU he has been MIA on offense.  Is this Coach P's retribution for that fumble???  If so, enough already; it's a bit overkill by now.  If not, than what????

Thought the board would enjoy seeing Jameel as a force with his new team in South Korea.  Check out the corn rolls!!

Does anyone on this board have contact with Jaron Cornish and his family?  Just concerned about how they're doing, and if they all fared O.K. after the devastating hit Abaco took from Hurricane Dorian the last couple of days.

As you all know, I've been questioning the absence of Kaela Hilaire from the roster for some time now.  At this juncture, there is pretty much no doubt in my mind that, for whatever reason, she's not coming.  I'd love to know what happend.  Maybe someone more frequently on campus can ask Coach McCombs if you get the chance.

That said, the roster has just been updated to add a new freshman (6'1" F Aminata Zie out of Paris, France!).  Does anyonbe have a clue about this?  It seems to have coe out of the blue.

The '19-'20 WBB roster is on the website.  But, there's no kaela hilaire.  Does anyone know what her status is?  She's a dynamite player, and reportedly had signed to play at SBU this year as a grad transfer.  Would be a great replacement for Shorty!

Still no word on Hilaire's status?  Seems that if she were coming, she would be here by now--agree?

"I'm pretty confident that it's MSG becoming our home court.  Of course, all home games will be played there at 2 AM."

Yeah, I'm told they're inserting the Wolfie head at center court as we speak!!
