Dallis Joyner averaged 16 points and 9 rebounds last season for Ironi Kiryat Ata of the Israeli National League, the top division in the country.

Also, Muhammed El-Amin played in Greece and Argentina this past season but I don't think he's affiliated with anyone at the moment.

Lastly, based on his Instagram, it appears Woodhouse will play for Gaeta in the Italian third division.

Warney will play for Team USA at AmeriCup 2017 in South America. Nice to have a former Seawolf representing the US.

Good thing the Knicks and Nets are so stacked that they don't need a solid rebounder and inside scorer like Warney.

Exactlly!! Warney won the MVP.. I cant believe no NBA will give him a shot.. It must be because of his lack of the long ball..The NBA today is very different then the NBA from 10 years ago. The league looks for multi fasted players. A big who can dominate the boards, defend, rebound and shoot the 3 ball. Warney can do it all except the 3.. Damn shame!!

This is horrible. At least it isn't just SBU that got cut. Still, It doesnt change the fact cuts have to be made and Athletics are right in the crossfire. Curious to what sport program is going to get axed. This article doesnt say that.. Swimming was just added this year too, interesting!!

A few updates to this, Warney to the NBA being the most notable. I don't believe Tommy Brenton is playing in Japan anymore, and Puriefoy, Woodhouse and McAllister all haven't played since the fall, so I'm not sure if they've been cut, hurt or hung 'em up.

Not a bad idea for Jameel

He will clean up over there and dominate, making some nice cash as well. It's the summer and the NBA will be on hiatus. He has nothing left to prove in the summer league so I'm in full support of this. Should be a cool experience- he's the type of person who will take full advantage of this and use it to grow.

Still can't believe NBA teams are still sleeping on him.

Look at his 3 point percentage, 17% for the game. This could be the reason he isn't getting any looks from the NBA

Petras is averaging 6.1 points and 5.7 boards in 16 minutes a night for MBK Handlova of the Slovakian League.

When looking this stuff up, it's always interesting to see who they're playing with or against. In this case, Petras is getting more burn than teammate and former UMBC standout Will Darley, who dropped 32 on us in the AE quarters a few years ago.

Nice story on Warney in Newsday: https://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/nets/ex-stony-brook-star-jameel-warney-still-chasing-nba-dream-1.23772058

*****

DALLAS – Former Stony Brook star Jameel Warney has accomplished a lot as a valuable member of the USA Basketball men’s national team and as a first-team G League All-Star with the Texas Legends, but three years into his professional career, he’s still chasing a regular spot on an NBA roster.

Last season, Warney was signed to a 10-day contract by the Mavericks, who are the parent club of the Legends, and coach Rick Carlisle liked what he saw. “He did a nice job for us,” Carlisle said before the Mavs defeated the Nets on Wednesday night at American Airlines Center. “He is an NBA system player in my opinion, a role player.

“But it’s the numbers game. There’s probably a couple of dozen guys at any given time fighting for one NBA position. Something’s got to break with a roster spot. I know he’s a persistent guy that’s not discouraged and he’s going to work no matter what. I have great respect for him. He’s the kind of guy that any coach would love how he approaches the game.”

Carlisle noted that Warney has been bothered by minor nagging injuries that slowed him down early in the season, but the 6-8 power forward still is averaging 17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.8 blocks through eight games. He’s shooting 44.5 percent from the field and  28.2 percent from three-point range and is an 88.9 percent free- throw shooter.

While 28.2 percent is a low number from three-point range, it is a huge improvement over his 0.00 percentage at Stony Brook, where he never attempted a three. Warney hit four threes in one game earlier this season and is working to develop into the kind of big man who can stretch the floor in the modern NBA.

“He’s in a program with us where he shoots 100 threes before or after every practice,” Legends coach Bob MacKinnon told Newsday. “He’s willing to put in the work. We don’t have to ask him or beg him to do it like a lot of guys. He comes in and does it with one of our coaches every single day. Now it’s translating into game performance.”

The Mavs’ roster is stocked with several forwards who are 6-10 or taller, but MacKinnon doesn’t see size as a problem, especially because Warney is such a good passer and well-rounded player. “He’s a great passer,” MacKinnon said. “Last season, we had a stretch where we [lost] a bunch of point guards. So, I had Jameel bringing up the ball and facilitating our whole offense as our power forward, and he was terrific. He is, I think, the best facilitating big man in our league. It’s another plus.

“He can play facing the basket. He can play posting up, he can rebound, and he can play in and out. Everyone talks about what he isn’t. He isn’t 6-10, but he’s a complete basketball player, a legit 6-8 with a 7-1 wingspan. So he plays bigger than his height.”

Worth noting, UC Iroegbu made his pro debut with the Stockton Kings of the D League on November 23, scoring 11 points in 20 minutes of action. That's his best effort thus far. He averages 4.7 ppg in three games, one of which was against Warney's Legends squad. I wish there was a photo of that reunion on Twitter/IG. A couple Seawolves in the D League is pretty good.

Add Qatar to the list of countries in which Muhammad El-Amin has played professionally. He played in two games, both losses, averaging 17 points a game, but hasn't played in the five since – all wins. So I'm not sure what the story is.

In other news, you know about Warney. Also, Iroegbu has signed with Baloncesto CP La Roda in Spain's third division. It's the same league that Saintel's in.

Ty had 26 and 12 in his first game with Soleuvre of the Total League in Luxembourg. The box for the second game isn't up aside from this gobbledygook. I think he had the first 11 and a total of 19 but I'm not sure.

Here's footage of the game. Ty's in yellow.

I like to see some guys who helped build this program still going in the pro ranks. Dallis Joyner debuted with Hebraica in the Uruguay pro league, going for 11 points and a game-high 13 boards in his team's 97-80 win over Capitol. Uruguay is the fourth country in which Joyner has played professionally, joining Israel, Slovakia and Colombia.

Made a few updates to the pro list, including Sturdivant's move to Germany and a couple other team transfers. I can't find anything on Iroegbu or Cornish ever actually playing in Spain – I know the latter has a lot on his plate.

It must get rough on these guys having to change countries so much just to keep playing basketball. I'm sure they get paid well for their area, but I can't imagine when all is said and done they're doing much if any better than a regular SBU student who got a degree in lucrative field financially.

Made a couple alterations here, adding Cornish and changing Joyner's location to Uruguay.

Sturdivant is averaging 20 and 14 for his German 5th Division team.

Yeboah's pro career is underway in France, where he's playing for St. Quentin in the French second division. Through four games, he's averaging 9 and 4 in 25 minutes of action per night.

Hey, in case you hadn't noticed, UC Iroegbu's out there playing reserve minutes in the G League. It's not a huge role, but we don't have a lot of ties to the NBA or to the draft. Iroegbu's at least out there playing alongside and against guys who have had legit roles in the NBA i.e. Jalen Johnson, Kenneth Faried, Nik Stauskas.

Good for him.  I remember the year after he graduated he either played in G League or was one of the last guys to get cut.  Looks like he found minutes.  Funny, he wasn't a standout on our team, by any means.

Agreed. He's not the one I expected to be affiliated with the NBA, but I also think you can get paid a lot more overseas so that's why people choose that route.

The thing is, with 28 teams and, say, 12 guys on each team, that's more than 330 roster spots. I feel like if a few of this year's guys wanted to pursue that, they'd get a sniff.

Warney is racking up hardware in the Korean Basketball League. He won his second foreign player MVP in three seasons earlier this week.

I'd bet Dollars to Donuts Warney would have been competitive in the NBA.

Elijah Olaniyi has caught on with BBC Sparta Bertrange of Luxembourg's top league, the LBBL. Assuming Sturdivant is still playing there, they'll go toe to toe.

According to one site, in the lower European leagues, it's as low as $500/month. However, Luxembourg is the richest country in the world so maybe you get a little more there. If Ty has starred there, Elijah ought to do the same and then some.

A couple other updates ...

Anthony Roberts is now playing in Portugal's top division. He's averaging 26 points, more than double the next player on the team.

Makale Foreman has caught on with Slavija in Bosnia's top division. They tip off on Saturday.

Over in Portugal, Anthony Roberts had 20 points, six rebounds and five assists in Vitoria SC's 102-75 win over CB Madeira on Saturday. Of note is that Michael Almonacy dropped in 13 and dished out five dimes for the losing side. I know they never crossed paths here, but it's pretty neat anyway.

ICYMI, we have what I believe to be our third-ever G Leaguer. Mo Gueye is averaging four points, five boards and two blocks through two games with the Texas Legends, the Mavs' G League affiliate.

First page is updated. Up to 14 current pros I think, although Luxembourg and maybe Australia are considered semi-pro.

Random fact: Eight players from our 2016-17 and 2017-18 teams are playing or have played professionally.

FWIW on Gueye, he's on the Toronto Raptors summer league team, which you can see take on Brooklyn in about an hour on ESPN2. He had 15 and 7 last night against Detroit – not bad. I don't suspect he makes the roster, but it's good to have guys in the conversation at least.

Sitting at 14 pros by my count (see page 1) but maybe I'm missing somebody.

Maybe this only applies to me, but it's worth keeping an eye on Gueye's situation in Toronto. He's had a nice preseason for them, with one more contest to go, and it feels like he's right on the fence for whether he makes the team or gets relegated to the G League. Raptors/Wizards exhibition game tonight – be there!

Edit: Ah well. Headed back to the G League. Felt like a longshot.

Update: Kaine Roberts has caught on with the Hiroshima Dragonflies in Japan's top division. He's averaging about five minutes a night through three games. He seems like a nice kid and competed hard so I wish him the best.

Ten games into the season, Gueye has almost doubled his scoring output from a year ago, and he's tops on the team in rebounding and blocks among regulars. It's also good to see him averaging just two fouls in 31-plus minutes per night – a definite thorn on his side here. Maybe he gets a cup of tea in the League.

You may have seen on social media that Olaniyi retired for medical reasons. I'm not seeing that Tykei has caught on anywhere or if he's even pursuing it.

Iroegbu is averaging 23 a night in Qatar, and oddly enough, one of his teammates is Tobias Harris' brother Tyler. All the way over there in Qatar.

The first post in this thread has the most recent locations as far as I can tell.

ICYMI, Tykei made his pro debut for Selfoss in Iceland last week, dropping 34 and 11 on those poor folks from Armann. Next up: Skallagrimur. He is going to dominate that league.

If you're keeping score at home, Selfoss is short for Körfuknattleiksfélag Selfoss. Also, that's now 18 former players in 18 different countries if I have it right.

Updated the initial post to show Gueye in the (freaking) NBA (!!)

Also updated to show that Campbell and Habwe are still playing – Switzerland and Georgia respectively.

I kind of expected to see Jenkins and Garcia pop up somewhere by now, but maybe they just went and got a regular job.

As I'm sure many of you saw, Gueye got some minutes and put up respectable numbers for the Raptors on Monday. Then on Tuesday it was back to the G League team. To date, one day and 6 mins in the NBA.

Brutal existence for those guys hanging off the ends of rosters.

More on Gueye: He's playing real minutes for the Raptors now. Granted, with guys missing, the Raptors are trotting out a fringe NBA team at the moment, but nevertheless, Gueye subbed in in the first and second quarters in Toronto's loss to Brooklyn last night. Good for him though.

He trails Warney 17-9 on the all-time NBA points list for former SBU players. Captivating chase!

FWIW, Gueye's now past Warney in points scored after a couple solid nights. Toronto is an abomination, but nevertheless, it's good to see him making contributions at the game's highest level.

Tykei averaging 30 and 9 in Iceland. I'd love to know what those games look like.

I missed it, but apparently NY Knicks' Video Coordinator Scott King, was interviewed at halftime of the Knicks game last night.  He last played for SBU in 2014-15 (played for us for 3 years), and grad-transferred to Fairfield for his final year.
