You can get a look at Almonacy and Jamel Allen (another possible SBU recruit) Thursday at 4:15 at WMHS. Melville's having a nice year but shouldn't be close unfortunately.

I actually went to watch Brentwood play at Sachem North last night. Almonacy had 24 pts and 5 assists according Newsday, but I think it wasnt' actually a great night for him. He took some ill advised shots in my opinion, and I wasn't too inspired by his defense on Sachem North's Nakhari Nelson who had 23 points of his own. That said Almonacy drained a couple shots from way outside the 3 point line (also missed his share of shots from out there too), got into the lane almost at will, and could have finished easily finished with more assists if the teammates made more of their shots. It's tough to gauge because Brentwood looked MUCH more talented than Sachem outside their terrific pg Nakhari Nelson, and a had a comfortable lead for most of the game.

I hope some of you get to the WM game as I'd love to hear your opinions.

And I really like Jamel Allen as well. I think he could be really good in the AE.

Thanks for the analysis, SBU. I think a lot of times when teams are just steamrolling everyone, you can see guys take bad shots or relax on defense. He's ready for the postseason and to face the big boys upstate.

Good to hear about Allen. You figure he's a 4 here or more a 3? It would be something if he landed here also.

Wonder if you'll see the SBU staff there also.
