not sure why Newsday is not doing a better job of covering our baseball team. but I pulled this from the SBU website. ovviously we have a good thing going with our baseball program and the coaching staff. hopefully the new AD will reward these guys for a great job.
lets not take anything for granted in this tourney. we don't need a repeat of the bball season ending tourney where we missed the big dance by one game. Go 'Wolves!!

Greg Logan is a Newsday sport Journalist and he covers Football, Basketball and he does a great job giving SB lots of exposure. As far as baseball and other NCAA sports, Newsday could give two hoots about them... I follow Greg Logan on twitter and see him at all of SB home Basketball games...... Follow him on Twitter and you will get up to the minute news when it happens!

Fortunately the Wolves won't have to face a fresh Newcomb (Hartford's ace), who's very tough to beat. I like their chances to win the tournament.
-
Stony Brook vs Maine its always an exciting and challenging matchup and its never a given. Our boys gotta come out strong
-
As long as they stay focused and take it one game at a time. Even we are down in a game this team has shown they can come back and win.
-
I'm excited. Championship starts today. I'll be following. Lets go Seawolves!
-
Great job, Seawolves!! One more win to the next level!! GO SEAWOLVES!!!!!!!
-
4-1 Victory of the Black Bears. Let goo seawolves!!!!

It will be Hartford vs Stony Brook in Day II of the Championship. Hartford beats Binghamton 6-1 to advance to the Winners bracket
-
Hartford pitcher Newcomb is killer. 14 Ks in 7 innings against Binghamton. Glad we don't have to face him.
-
Bignhamton beats Maine 6-3
Binghamton advances to play loser of Game 4. Maine goes home
-
stony brook 2-1 lead over Hartford in the bottom of the 3rd.

Not so fast.. There's a very good chance we will be facing Hartford ace, Shawn Necomb. He is lights out for any team and most likely will be going in the first round of the MLB draft this year!!

The Seawolves need to win just 1 game out of a possible 2 games remaining in the Conference Tournament.
Few hours to go before heading down to Baltimore for the Lax Final 4.

LET GO SBU Baseball. I'm excited. Championship Day!!
-
Binghamton up 8-0.
-
Clash of the SUNYS other than albany. Lets go Brook!!! should be a fun game to watch
-
Just need to stay focused. A lot of our guys were on that 2012 team as underclassman so they should be used the pressure.
-
rain delay in champ game. looks terrible out there....
-
SBU loses at tightly contested game vs Binghamton 4-3.
Winner takes all tomorrow
-
Tough loss but great bounce-back season for the baseball team.
Bad luck for both the softball and baseball teams who both had the same problem, losing twice to a lower seed in the championship.
Overall this year had a lot of missed opportunities with a lot of squads.
Football- lots of close losses, including to Towson
Basketball- losing another championship game
Softball- top seed, lost two in a row to Albany in the championship
Baseball- top seed, lost two in a row to Binghamton in the championship
We're due for a lot of success soon- these teams are really close to taking a big step forward!
-
What a shame. Back to back opportunities thrown away.

That seems to be the norm this year.. Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Soccer.. SB plays so well in the regular season only to fold in the playoff. This trend needs to end.. Clearly, SB has talented players but when the title is on the line the team as a whole just freezes... Hopefully Shan Heilbron can give the team some prep talk next season going into playoffs!!!!

I was looking at our baseball roster today and see only 17 players listed. No freshman only sophs through seniors. What happened to recruiting? If you play 9 guys that leaves 8 on the bench baring injuries. Is it funding, are we headed for a down year? These team looks very thin for 2015 and nothing like past teams. Things like this kind of standout as to ask the question whats going on ?

I'm aware of at least four incoming recruits:
-- Richard Clufo (Pat-Med)
-- Aaron Glickstein (HHH-W)
-- Joe Marzouk (HHH-E)
-- Nicholas Morena (Sachem North)

There are a couple more commits from LI in today's Newsday, as well.
I guess someone should open a 2015 Baseball Season thread.
