Not bad. He should be given a chance with the way Nick has been kicking. Lets see if he turns out more reliable

impressive HD quality Colgate stream. The Vipbox.tv mirror of this game is not up. But vipbox.tv is not a virus. Its a great internet streaming site. Just have to be very very very [...] careful with the annoying advertisements that come up on top of the videos. Gotta X them out and you'll be able to watch just about anything on Vipbox.tv

I'm telling you, I'd love to see Tye catch a ball downfield, instead of these shorty routes out to the backfield.

I'm a little suprised Priore left his starters in late in the game.. I hope Poteat is not seriously hurt and only got his marbles shooked

yeah the live stream was impressive.  so was our 7/14 on the third downs.  we can really wear a team down by extending those possessions.  looks like we got into the backfield too on defense.

poteat had a bigtime rushing game but was also instrumental on special teams.  i see we even got our backups on and they contributed.

i agree with the comment about the mismatch.  SB can hurt you in many ways; Gate seemed to have a few token players that you can attempt to neutralize.

in the meantime, nova is still blowing up towson....

Nice road win !  Now to get as many guys healthy in our bye week and get ready for 5 CAA teams in a row. The live streaming  on the Patriot League  Network was pretty good.  Announcers were  very fair and praised SBU  quite a bit.

Re: the Livestream coverage, you all seem to think it was pretty good.  Was I the only one that kept losing audio?

Re: SBU's performance, certainly it was a good (and important) win.  But, I think they lost the fire in their bellies in that second half, don't you?  I'd like to see them maintain that agressiveness for an entire game.  Also, I still think their committing far too many unnecessary penalties.  In a closer game that would have been fatal.

I do think the RBs are beginning to feel their oats.  I especially liked the way Kenner was running.  I also think that Level always impresses when he's out there.

On the upside, it looked like Bernard was back ondefense.  On the downside, I think I spotted Ochi on crutches late in the game.  That would really be unfortunate. Let's also hope Poteat is just a little shaken and can come back quickly.    Things are really going to get tough for the rest of the season!! Thank God for the bye week!!

I know the audio was off during the half  but  it seemed ok the rest of the game.  And yes  they played very conservative in the 2nd half.

I'm so excited for this team Man... I feel like this team is not giving up despite all the challenges, neither should we. I expect the fans to comes out in numbers two weeks from now against UNH. They have a week off perfectly sandwiched in before the toughest stretch of the season. Five CAA games in Five straight weeks. By Maine we should know whether this team has the talent to get it into the playoffs. Tough New Hampshire team coming into the Brook but I'm excited. I can't wait. It should be awesome

Lets bring the hype back. LETS GO STONY BROOK SEAWOLVES

I would like this boards opinion on Negron... Lets just do an overall assessment  of his performance as a quarterback so far, for now, then later we can break down his performance on a individual category bases and then digest it .....   On a scale of 1 to 10, I think a 5 is an appropriate number ....

i think negron has been more than sufficient in a run-first offense.  he's completed the passes for the most part htat he's been asked to make, and taken care of the ball.  a little scrambling when asked too.  limited mistakes and controlled the clock.  then again ive only seen maybe 4 of the 6 games so there could be something im missing.

I see it a little differently ... Lets use yesterdays game for example. On a few occasions his short passes have been way off with no pass rushing When he targets a WR. He appears to have tunnel vision on more then one occasion therefore opening up to sacks. When he does see the a sack coming and doesn't throw the ball away he takes the loss.. I do understand this year offensive line is not as good as last year and opens up the doors to sacks, forcing him to scramble more instead of sitting in the pocket and waiting for a WR to open...

I actually watched some of the Towson/ villanova on NBCsports and V quarterback Robertson ran for 150 yards and had 2 touchdowns. I think negron is just as good as Robertson and he too can run for over 100 games, if asked to do so !!!!!!

Hammer, I too saw several easy passes that Negron "chunked" or threw into the ground at the feet of his receivers.  I attribute this to lack of consistent passing mechanics.  he needs to get his feet set and square up his shoulders on even the easy throws.  I think he gets a bit sloppy on the easy throws and the results are he misses as many as he makes.  Early in the season, RI and Buff, Coach P used to run Negron more on the QB option.  since he hurt his shoulder, I think Coach P is hesitant to run Negron and risk and injury that could knock him out for weeks at a time, or maybe lose him for the season.  As much criticism as we put on Negron, I saw Coxson drop a two or three real easy passes yesterday, so there is blame to be spread around.  Again, lets get Tye open downfield and see him rip up DBs.  I'm tired of seeing him catch 2 yard passes out of the backfield.  Even the Colgate TV announcers had quickly figured out when Negron would throw to Tye on the short routes.

Our offense last night was  very  conservative. The 2nd half they  didn't do much of anything except protect the lead. We cant seem to  stretch the field as we did last year. Our passes are all the short range variety  8-10 yards at best and hope for a run after catch. Negron threw one  pass of about 40 yards  but over threw his man last night  then went back to the short stuff.   CAA  defensive co ordinators are going to pick this up  rather quickly .  And with out a real running threat we could have problems the next 5 games. Too much predictability right now with our wide receivers who have both speed and size and don't seem to used.

Wolf- I agree with you.  last night, second half should have been an opportunity to air it out a bit and try some new things.  cant blame Negron for that, he is following orders.  we need to become more of a second half team, really start to exploit other teams.  we slowed down last night and against Towson in the second half after piling up good sized leads in the first half.  I've conjectured all year that for SB to really be successful in the CAA, we need to be more multidimensional in the passing game.  five games to go, all against CAA teams, this should be interesting.
