Yeah.  Thats three rising juniors who have verballed already.

Size is good for FOGOs.  Lets say this kid is 15.  At 5'11'' 190lbs, he may grow even bigger.

I think Coach Nagel  is doing a fine job of recruiting both locally and nationally.    Alot  of optimism  about this team especially in 2013, but we will surprise  folks in 2012 !

Scratch that above- i think it says Reh is a senior in 2011-12, so he will appear in the fall of 2013, set to graduate in 2016.  I moved him over to the 2016 thread.

I'm guessing that second link is from a couple years ago because some of those kids look pretty young. There's also a couple kids who have transferred within the last two years, and that list still shows their previous school. I'm guessing he's more like 6'2" or 6'3" now.

Dug up some more on Corpolongo:

2012 Hudson Valley Empire Team
2013 Team Superstar Blue Elite
Team Moonlight Black

2012: 25G, 4A
2012 All Section
2012 All League

Can dodge, shoot, faceoff, and clear.  He's also a wrestler, a running back, and has a brother one year younger than him.  Seems he has scored some nice extra man goals with his outside shot.  And one more year of high school left to grow and hone those skills.

Here's an article i found: http://boyslacrosse.lohudblogs.com/2012/04/13/about-last-night/

Quote
The Tuskers are going to be very good before the season’s over, but there are so many sophomores in the rotation there’s bound to be a couple of hiccups along the way. I was surprised to see how strong the midfield is right now. Thare are some difference-makers running around out there, namely Alex Corpolongo and Chris Marasco.

Class of 2017 has six so far (havent played their senior years yet): Johnstone (G), Garcia (D), Rowe (M/FO), Cunningham (M), Corpolongo (M), and Mahon (A).

Mahon scored a goal in the UA Underclassmen games against New England: http://insidelacrosse.com/news/2012/06/30/under-armour-underclassman-tournament-day-1-and-2

Hudson Valley Empire Team (with Corpolongo): http://boyslacrosse.lohudblogs.com/2012/06/25/hudson-valley-roster-for-empire-state-cup-finalized/

He put up 27, 3 last year as a junior, including a hat trick against John Jay in the NY Section 1 title game.   I also saw this quote: Brian Prestreau is drawing rave playoff reviews, scoring 10 goals in four post-season affairs and 16 goals in his last six games overall. Throw in 11 GBs for good measure and you have the makings of a complete player.

2012 All Section. ski team, basketball team.  No video available, one year of HS left to go.

Quote
Brandon Bailey, LSM, Bowie (Md.) has verbally committed to Stony Brook. The 5-11, 175-pound Bailey lettered in four sports his junior year( football, indoor & outdoor track & lacrosse) and earned second-team All-League honors in lacrosse. He played summer lacrosse for T2 Storm Lacrosse Club and was a participant in 2012 King of the Hill Tournament (all-star honors) and in the 2012 MVP Team Tournament (all-star honors). Also considered Hofstra.

He attends Bowie HS in MD, where he plays football and track, however, they only have a club team.  So i guess he competes in lacrosse only at nearby Eleanor Roosevelt HS.

And some video here (#14): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh5nZkb-JwQ

Pequa made a perfect 10-0 in Class A this year, 15-3 overall, losing to some really great teams.  A goal shy of the county title.  Bentz returns next year.  Is he the younger brother of Stephen Bentz from Hofstra?

Looks like he is also a WR/QB.

He's quite the competitor- bball PG (MVP); football QB/DB/K; lax midfielder (MVP, All County, Captain, started as a freshman).  He's so well rounded, he can score, pass, and even picked up 90 GBs last year.  Also an honor student and one year left to go!

If you look around the news, some of game stories and the quotes of coaches/opposing coaches indicate that he is a big-play type of athlete.

The count for 2017 (that we know of) is up to ten recruits already, with a year to go!

ID    Div    Name    Hometown    State    HighSchool    HS_St    Position    Status    College
91   1   Johnstone, Hayden   Toronto   ON   Hill Academy   ON   Goalie   E   Stony Brook
133   1   Garcia, Bradley   Fort Washington   PA   Germantown Academy   PA   Defense   E   Stony Brook
227   1   Rowe, Kyle   Vienna   VA   James Madison   VA   Midfield/FO   R   Stony Brook
274   1   Cunningham, Gerard   Levittown   NY   MacArthur   NY   Midfield   E   Stony Brook
441   1   Mahon, Ryan   Bethpage   NY   Bethpage   NY   Attack   R   Stony Brook
455   1   Corpolongo, Alex   Lincolndale   NY   Somers   NY   Midfield   R   Stony Brook
490   1   Prestreau, Brian   Yorktown Heights   NY   Yorktown   NY   Midfield   E   Stony Brook
595   1   Bailey, Brandon   Bowie   MD   Bowie   MD   Defense/LSM   E   Stony Brook
626   1   Bentz, Paul   Massapequa   NY   Massapequa   NY   Midfield   R   Stony Brook
658   1   Bitzer, Ryan   Riverhead   NY   Riverhead   NY   Midfield   E   Stony Brook

And of course, one already for 2018.

Id say we are pretty even with Hofstra (conservatively); a small step ahead of UA and Bingo (at least for 2017s); and quite a bit ahead of Hartford.  For BC, i just dont know the recruits well enough to gauge.  St. John's has a great start on 2017s.

Again, this is all based on what's public.

I compare Tyler Andreassi to Pelligrino from Hopkins. Tyler is a little bigger but with the same speed and stick handling ability. This will be a huge addition next year.

Tyler has hip surgery last week...6 months of recovery ahead.  Not good for a kid in high school.

Spoke with Mr.Andreassi at the UMBC gm and he said Tyler will be ready for fall ball in Sept. Also he said Mike had a slight tear in his meniscus, not to serious should be back soon.

Middie Brian Prestreau '17 against the top competition:

5G against Chaminade

6G against St. Anthony's

I think Nagle has the program moving in the right direction. I know some people may look at this past season as a step in the wrong direction, but this was very much a rebuilding year. We have a great duo to build around going forward with Eastwood and Rodgers. Incoming freshman like Bentz and Prestrau are having great senior seasons. I also wouldn't sleep on incoming frosh Ryan Bitzer. I know his lax stats may not look stellar, but he's a stud a three sport athlete from Riverhead In lacrosse, basketball, and football. While riverhead lacrosse may not be the most reputable, they have pretty notable and basketball and football programs where young Mr. Bitzer has excelled greatly. I think he is an under the radar recruit who will surprise a lot of people.

Watched a Yorktown game this weekend and I have to say this kid Presteau is really impressive. He has 63g 20a in 19gms with the state playoffs still to come. His 63g on the season are 2nd only to Roy Cosley in school history for a middie. He is fast and has a rocket of a shot. He really shoots well on the run creating his own offense. Joe Linardi said he is one of the most underrated kids in the country.

Prestreau had another 4 goals in the state quarterfinals loss to Niskayuna. Kid looks like a stud.

Incoming midfield recruit Paul Bentz from Massapequa is playing in the class A long island championship game this saturday. It looks like he has had a productive season with 45 goals and 19 assists on the year.

-Brian Prestreau '17 made the AA team: http://boyslacrosse.lohudblogs.com/2013/05/28/yorktown-dominates-lineup-of-all-americans/

He lead Yorktown to some monster wins and put up some nice #s (63,20).  They beat Chaminade and lost to St. Anthony's by 1.  I think he totalled 10G in those two.

He also scored 4 in the loss to Nisky in the Regional Semis: http://www.lohud.com/article/20130530/SPORTS/305300080/Boys-lacrosse-Yorktown-stunned-by-Niskayuna

Ellis is a stud!! This kid has real speed. Would make a great def middie . He has Milican speed or possibly faster. He is also a great DB in football. He has the athletic ability to contribute in both sports. He has what is most important and can't be coached, speed. He was running low 4.5 and high 4.4 forties as a senior in high school. Really nice find for both teams, I thought this kid was underated and under recruited at Garden City.

Just saw inside lacrosse's top 100 freshman list...disappointed to say the least that Brian Prestreau wasn't included. He put up crazy numbers for Yorktown this past season, and did it against some really good competition. Also I don't believe it's been posted yet that Prestreau was the player of the year in the Hudson Valley according to MSG Varsity.

Eh, Prestreau put up great numbers senior year, but it's hard to really compare him to a guy like Bitzer who didn't play on a good high school lacrosse team, but was a stand out basketball and football player on good teams.  I'd actually be willing to bet Bitzer has a better college career than Prestreau when it's all said and done.

In general I don't blame Nagle at all for Prestreau leaving. I don't think the kid even finished out his semester here. I don't think thats a lacrosse thing.

Here is the point funny guy. Since Nagle took over 2 of his top recruits left before the fall was over ( L. Miller & Prestreu ) and another top recruit who was a freshman starter left after a year ( Tom Monzo ). That's not a good trend.

If Prestreau was the main recruit for his grade, why didn't Coach Nagle ever go see him play? I know he went to go see the other two Hudson Valley kids play multiple times. In those two games vs Somers, Brian put up 9g's 3a's against the other freshmen Alex Corpolongo who had 0g 0a.
To put on top of that, taking a kid who scored 67 times his senior year, who was an All-American, Player of the year for Hudson Valley, and the second leading scorer as a Midfielder behind Roy Colsey at the Tradition rich Yorktown High School, and switching him to a D middie is just one of the worst coaching moves anyone could make. I wouldn't blame him for leaving so quickly.
Prestreau is currently the 4th or 5th midfielder at Penn State who is in the Top 10, so he must be doing something right over there.

Does that have anything to do with Prestreau? I don't believe so, he would of probably would of put on a show just like he did to St. Anthony's (6g), Chaminade(2g), Wilton(5g) and to Ridgefield(4g). So what you just stated was useless. Bottom line, he's not the chosen one, but he is better then most kids in his grade. Give him time and he will shine.
At the end of the season, just let me know how it goes when half the freshmen class transfer out. And whats with the 2018 class decommitting? Looks like something should change with the attiude Coach Nagle is showing. Cant be good for a D1 program to have so many kids leave since he's been head coach. Whats it at now, like 9 or 10 kids leave over the past couple of seasons?

I still don't understand why your going at this kid. Is that what your life has come to? To give people a break down of his season?
Hes a shooter. Nothing else to say. They just lost to Denver 15-11, guess what! Prestreau had a goal! He was one for one. Every time his second line midfield group went out on the field, someone scored, so he's gotta be doing something right to be playing at a Ranked D1 team.
Let me get this straight tho, you believe every freshmen that Nagle took in was better then Prestreau? A kid who took his high school team to new levels and reaching a #3 spot in the Tri-State. A kid that if you look at the UnderArmour All-Americans, he probably had more goals then all the midfielders. Only reason he wasn't on that list was because he was committed to Stony Brook.

Not Mr. Prestreau, just a big fan of the kid and of the rest of the freshmen class. Ive spoken with all of them and their all great kids with big futures on and off the field. Personally i thought he was gonna be a huge gain for your program along with Alex Corpolongo and Ryan Mahon. Them with the face-off kid Kyle Rowe, but he's leaving next year also. I thought they were gonna gel together and start a new era and bring your program back to where it should be.

But in the end, when it comes down to it, Nagle needs to figure it out or leave. He will end up driving this program straight into the ground.

Because he wasn't able to make it to more of Prestreau's high school games, and asked him to play defensive midfield?

Seriously best of luck Prestreau going forward, but lets not make Nagle into some kind of monster. He's created pipelines to local high schools and has recruited family and friends of players currently  the roster. The program is going to be fine.

Not talking about just Prestreau, I'm talking about all the kids who left the program over the past couple of years. Many young studs have left after their freshmen year who could have a huge impact to the success of the team. Ive heard some rumors of what was said during the period of Prestreau leaving. Coach Nagle can't be acting like that, its driving future stars away. Word through the grape vine is that some of the freshmen are not going to be around much longer.

LacrosseGuy, where do you get your information from? You seem to be the only person with inside knowledge of the program?

Not talking about just Prestreau, I'm talking about all the kids who left the program over the past couple of years. Coach Nagle can't be acting like that, its driving future stars away. Word through the grape vine is that some of the freshmen are not going to be around much longer.

I can tell you that back in January I was talking to one of the higher profile recruits who transferred out, and he really had nothing bad to say about Nagle. In fact he said he much rather play for Nagle than his current coach.
