I just hope all this investment doesnt us in the AE  and CAA in 5 years .  That  would be a huge waste of money .

I disagree. Obviously you tend too build like this to move up, but even in the AE/CAA, facilities can help us win recruits which ultimately translates to wins on the field. Even D2 schools and below care about facilities. This isn't a waste at all.

Agreed. It's never a waste of money to upgrade old, outdated facilitues if the funds are there to do so.

read this in the annual report last week- from a football alum nearly 40 years ago:

"Our bleachers were from a high school that had shut down its football program.  We used snow fence as the fence around the field.  When we played night games, we rented lights, and for halftime, we'd use a high school band..."

My daughter graduated in 1997 .  Coach K  was th coach  . They played over  near the railroad station . Halftime was under a tree because it as too far to walk back to the locker rooms .  High school bands did play at half time and the concession stand was out of cooler under a tent .  They Bar B Qed hot dogs and burgers like in your back yard .  Times have changed . Average attendance on a warm sunny day maybe was 300 on those high school  bleachers .  That was the mid 90s . We got crushed by teams like the Merchant Marine Academy , Gettysburg  and of course Albany on occasion .
