The baseball team is really impressive. They are solid everywhere on the field.

Anyone know if Carmona or Tissenbaum are draft prospects?

Carmona was at one point projected as a 2nd Round pick. He's done nothing to dampen that ranking, and will definitely be drafted.

Tissenbaum was also linked as one of the top MLB prospects at SBU. Would be surprising to not see him drafted, and he's a near certainty to catch on somewhere.

This team's stats are honestly incredible. They have 7 players including three freshman batting over .333. Stony Brook has 5 pitchers, three of which are starters, with ERA's under 3.

I wonder where Johnson ends up. He's a great college pitcher, but I think scouts don't think he has "big league stuff." I believed he made the Cape all star game along with Jankowski, and Cantwell. I bet Stecko-Haley's pro stock has risen tremendously with the season he's having and his 6' 5" frame.

And getting ahead of myself, we'll lose a lot going into next year but we should still return some of the best players in the conference with Goldstein, Peraigne, Krause, and McNitt.

At 45-11   their record is almost obscene.   Their basic skills  just seem a cut above the rest of the conference and those freshmen  Kraus , Goldstein and Perrigane are off the charts.  We will need some pitching next season though with two of our starters graduating.

Yesterday Aaron Fitt of Baseball America tweeted "Talking to coaches lately, the team nobody wants as their No. 4 seed is #StonyBrook, which improved to 2-0 at #AEC tourney with 7-4 win."

It looks like we're bringing in a 5 pitchers next year. Perfectgame.com rated two of our incoming freshman "potential top 10 round pick and/or highest level college prospect."  :o  I also think guys like Vanderka, Campbell, and Gallup could be solid starters.

This is one amazing baseball team. This team is a step above everyone else (in the AE) when it comes to fielding and they have such a great offense. SBU leading 11-6 after a 3-run blast by William Carmona... Two innings away from their fourth D-I NCAA bid. Go Seawolves

Congrats for SBU Baseball. Another Championship. They got the job done without a single loss in the last 11 games. I hope they make some noise in the NCAA

That was a good article  especially being an out of town paper.   Im optimistic that we can advance to the next level starting tomorrow night.
